Is 9 months ttc a long time?

Hi all, we are almost going into our 10th month ttc and I'm feeling very disheartened Sad my partner isn't as worried as I am and says 'all in good time' but I'm just so worried that I will never be able to conceive! Please is there anyone who thinks this is normal/who conceived baby no. 1 after 9 months?? I'm 23 btw.
Thanks all! Xx

Hey, I know it must feel like it's never going to happen but statistically it can take healthy couples 12 months to conceive so I wouldn't worry too much yet.

Do you use OPKs to track ovulation? I was using cheapie but switched to clearblue digital OPKs and got my BFP first month them (I'm 35 and have PCOS). Timing is everything and the window of opportunity can be very small x

Hi, thanks so much for your reply!! It really does feel like forever. I used the cheap amazon OPK and never seem to get a positive! My periods aren't the most regular either so that doesn't help. Maybe it will benefit me to dish out on a Clear Blue of some kind! Congratulations on your BFPSmile - hoping I'm not too far behind! X

It’s not a long time at your age really. 2 years is the time limit most trusts set for healthy young people to come to them with problems.

Would suggest ditching the opk’s and just have sex every two days. If you want to give yourself an extra boost you could try using a prenatal designed for conception, and a fertility lube such as preseed or conceive plus as it’s better for sperm than other types.

Oh I totally felt like you last year, it took us 13 months but I'm now listening to my 8 month old DS snoring in his cot so it did eventually happen! Feels like forever at the time, but my midwife asked me how long we had been trying and when I said 13 months she said "oh, happened quite quickly then!"

DH said I was worrying too much about it. He might've been right, cause the month we conceived I threw caution to the wind and got very drunk on a European city break Blush ...BFP 12 days later!

I agree with the above.

I started to ttc August 2017, conceived April 2018 which was a MMC in August. It then took til July 2019 to conceive again, I am now 21 weeks. It felt like a lifetime!
