Hi. My partner and I have decided to TTC in December and we are very excited. I'm considering trying out the Shettles Method to sway towards having a girl. I would love a little boy as well, but I've always imagined myself with a girl, and I thought I'd just give it a go and no harm done if it doesn't work. At the end of the day, a healthy baby, pregnancy and mum is most important!
I've been charting my temp all year as we have been using it for contraception so I know my cycle well. However my ovulation day does fluctuate between cycle days 13-17 - usually it's about day 16/17.
I'm keen to look at EWCM and do the LH tests too just to pinpoint in. My idea is to stop having sex once I get a positive LH or heavy EWCM as this usually means I'll ovulate next day, based on previous experience. So if I do this, I will probably have had sex 2-3 days before I ovulate which fits with the Shettles Method for a girl.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has done it this way? Any luck? What did you do? How did you use the LH tests?
Also curious - is it good to have sex every day or just every second day to not deplete the semen...?
Thank you so much for your help!
