Faint positives but not pregnant ?

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has any advice or stories (also I'm just looking to VENT)

At the beginning of the month I started to have weird symptoms such as sensitive nipples, extreme hunger, nausea, heart burn , fatigue and cramping. A comment from a co-worker and realisation that AF was late, prompted me to panic and buy some pregnancy tests. I had all faint positives and one strong positive up until what I thought was AF arrived 2 weeks late on 06/11. Bleeding lasted 7 days and was light. After some research I thought I may have had a chemical pregnancy so I stopped testing.

However, the pain and cramping continued so I went to see my GP who ordered blood tests. These came back negative on 20/11. I made a follow up appointment on 21/11. Doctor did a urine test and told me after 30 seconds it was negative and I had either imagined the lines or the tests were all faulty because the line should be as dark as control line.

Now call me insane, but I have continued to test to see if I get a negative test but every time it's a faint line appearing After 1-2 minutes.

I don't know where to go now because the doctor clearly thought I was a nut case! I have used 7 different brands, all 25mlu apart from First response early test.

Any ideas ? TIA

I'd go and see another gp explain all to them and see what they say.

If your blood test is negative then that is more accurate than the tests you are using x

What exactly could cause HCG to be detected in the urine? I'm a worrier, think I need to call down haha! Just think it's odd that I would continue to have symptoms and positive tests if I wasn't pregnant .. ah !

What tests are you using? They are probably really bad evap lines? Also depending on your age some women naturally have hcg levels around 5 and obviously that can be detected by a FRER or IC x

I've used boots own test strips and mid stream , first response early test midstream, clear blue midstream, asda own midstream, freedom test strips, Tesco own midstream, Poundland strips, home bargains strips and midstream, pound stretcher strips.I have tried that many brands and tests because after the doctor said I could have imagined the lines or maybe a bad batch of tests. I know that's a bit crazy but I thought the same about Evaps, but all lines appearing in 1-2 minutes while test is still wet. Im 23 so maybe that's it? I've done tests in the past when period was late and never had a line apart from when pregnant with my son who is now 3

I had similar by the sounds of it - positive test, miscarried, still cramping and still faint lines. I had miscarries but had not lost all of the tissue, I had to go to EPU and had treatment. I don't want to worry you but I'd go for a second opinion x

Thanks @wannabebump, I never even considered that. How do I get my doctor to refer me? The one is saw said no more tests would be done because a blood test can't be wrong, but I've seen posts of woman having both negative urine and blood tests ( I know that's extremely rare) x

@jc96 I self referred to EPU, my doctor didn't have anything to do with it. X
