Hi all I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance after what feels like a lifetime of ttc. It’s been 18 months and not even a hint of a bfp in the entire time.

My question is how long did it take you to get you bfp? And how did you find out? I’m just looking for some positive stories to get me through my funk and the weird cycles that I’ve been having after my hsg! Help please ☺️

Hey @Carley321 my first at 20 I fell pregnant within the first month, I got pregnant 2 years ago and fell pregnant within the first month but they pregnancy didn’t go any further and then I’m not trying and have been since July, and nothing, think I had a chemical last month, I’m with a new partner so it could why, we’ve both been tested. He is younger than me but my fertility is good and his is a little lower as morphology of semen is poor but we should still be fine to get pregnant, it’s so frustrating as it seems to be taking so long! Have you been tested?
Do you use opks and bbt? I’ve just started using a clear blue digital one, worth a go!

Good luck to you. It will happen when you stop worrying about it, easier said than done xx

I’m 32 nearly 33 now.

About 9 months, this was not active trying (only having sex 2-3 times a month, no ovulation testing etc). I was 40, DH 45.
I suspect if we’d be trying properly it’d have been quicker.
I had very regular periods so tested when I was a day late. No symptoms though.

MsChatterbox · 25/11/2019 10:03

It took 6 months. Sorry you are having such a hard time with it. Have you seeked help already?

Eventrider1 · 25/11/2019 10:13

It took me and DH 9 months of trying. Towards the end I started to get a bit obsessed about why it wasn't happening for us when so many people seem to be capable of getting pregnant from a one night stand.
Will keep fingers crossed for you getting a BFP soon!

3 cycles. The third cycle we stopped caring and had sex when we wanted to, not because it was the right "time" and so baby was made.

Don't put pressure on yourself, everyone is different! Thanks

Drbrowns · 25/11/2019 11:14

My first took me 14 months, second 6months and third 3 months, but only one really trying. My sil took nearly two years though. Have you had any tests?

Pilot12 · 25/11/2019 11:21

One month to conceive my first, five months to conceive second but miscarried at 12 weeks then four months to conceive again. I used Clear Blue Advanced Ovulation Tests and Ovia Fertility app to conceive the third time due to age (43). Have you thought about using something like that to help....

MotherOfLittlePeople · 25/11/2019 11:23

First time an accident, found out at 6 weeks whilst having a miscarriage unfortunately. Second time about 3 months of trying. Another miscarriage after the MAP failed (condom split). Fourth took one cycle to get a bfp.

Carley321 · 25/11/2019 15:50

Thanks for the reply’s ladies. It’s so nice to have reply’s and hear when/ how everyone got their bfps.

Yes I’ve had tests I have 1 blocked tube. (Should have said that really) all blood tests came back normal and so far all other tests and I am waiting for a lap now.
I’m just so disheartened after trying for so long. I feel I’ve got a brick wall with it all and can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, I need some form of reassurance or good news to come my way because I feel like the situation is so pressurised lately that I’m struggling to even be happy and function as normal. Not knowing what my future holds scares the daylight out of me.

It took nearly 3yrs for us to conceive No1 and the others took roughly 12 months each. I was 30 when No1 was born.

@Carley321 I'm sorry you're going through such a tough time. I am currently in month 11 of trying and finding it so hard- everyone I know seems to be falling pregnant and saying things like we can't believe how quickly it happened, we weren't even trying properly 😂😭 I actually got pregnant in my second month of trying but had a v early m/c at 6 weeks and nada since. AF due on Wednesday but fully prepared for another month of heartbreak...

MotherOfLittlePeople · 25/11/2019 17:28

@Carley321 are you taking folic acid and VIT D ( I think it's that vitamin) they may help x

kitk · 25/11/2019 17:31

First baby bfp on month 2. This time we're 30 months in Sad

Carley321 · 25/11/2019 19:53

Yes taking folic acid and Vit d and iron.

@Girlinglasses sorry you had to go though that. Ttc is such a trying time. And what a slog it can be lol. The disappointment is hard isn’t it. I’m sure we’ll get there though 🙏

@rednsparkley 3 years. That sounds tough. But so god you got there xx

I hope you get your bfp @kitk 🤞 30 months is hard going I bet.
