TWW Metronidazole for wisdom tooth

I'm currently 3dpo, had some toothache and dentist said it's my wisdom tooth and has prescribed me metronidazole, I let her know we're TTC and she said she can't prescribe amoxicillin as I'm allergic. She said it's low risk for birth defects but the benefit of taking it outweighs the risk. It's only 5 days worth but if I'm pregnant I'll worry it's caused defects. Any advice is very welcome xx

She’s right, it is low risk, a five day course (I’m assuming 200-400mg three times daily) isn’t a high dose regimen and there’s no reason to believe it will cause any harm.

Thanks @JPharm - 400mg x3 daily for 5 days, I think the worry is if I don't take them and the infection spreads I'd regret it. I'm only 4dpo so hopefully if I am pregnant it won't cause any complications taking it xxx

The infection spreading would be far more dangerous for you if you are pregnant.
