Copper coil removal appointment

So I have made an appointment for later today to have my copper coil removed, I was wondering if anyone else has had one removed lately that could let me know how it went? I found mine really painful to have put in and I'm nervous 😬 I will of had this in now for 4 years. The lady on the phone said it was a removal assessment appointment so I'm unsure if it's actually being removed today 😩 I really hope it is 🤞

Take some ibuprofen (if you have no allergies or contraindications) about 20 mins before your appointment. This will help with any anticipated pain. Removal is generally much easier than insertion. Can you still feel your threads and wiggle them a bit?

Had mine out literally Monday. If you can feel your threads, it should be about as uncomfortable as a smear. It's absolutely NOTHING compared to insertion. There's a little twinge, my nurse had me cough (to mask the feel of removal I think). I bled a little after, so bring your preferred blood collection receptacle, because I didn't bring my cup and ended up waddling home in a terrible pad.

Thank you both for the reply, that's a relief atleast it's not going to be as bad as getting it in.

I have started to bleed annoyingly as I was due on but I've read that it's easier to remove during the cycle. I hope that's the case anyway 😬
