Hi! New to MN...sorry if this is long!
So DH and I are TTC our third child, our children are 13 and 9 so feels like we’re starting again!
I came off the pill end of August, after 8 yrs on it. Periods have been irregular so started using OPKs.
Didn’t have any positive ovulation tests until last Tuesday, but first time using them too so just assumed I may have missed the boat earlier in my cycle - but still DTD every day.
By dates of a 32 day cycle (not exactly sure of my cycle length but went with the longer side of average) I was due AF last Friday (so, 3 days after the positive OPK.) I wasn’t expecting the positive OPK and did kind of hope it was an early sign of pregnancy. The last time we DTD was the previous Saturday, so 3 days before the positive.
AF hasn’t arrived, so I’ve convinced myself this is a stupidly long cycle due to irregularity since coming off 8 years of the pill, and based on positive ovulation test, and AF being roughly 12 days after ovulation, I’m giving myself until middle of next week for her to arrive...which would actually be around a 6 week cycle. Crazy!
I never thought I’d be like this, but I’m symptom spotting like mad and just so confused as to what’s happening with my body! I’m annoyed at myself for not assuming I just ovulated late after the positive, and that a 3 day+ window since DTF and ovulation is too long for anything to happen this month.
We’re on holiday early next year so I feel if this isn’t our month we will need to hold fire until after the holiday, and maybe later in the year as already have a birthday near Xmas. Also, our ages are a factor (33 and DH 39) so really anxious this time around.
Any advice is gratefully received. I don’t ever know what my normal AF symptoms would be as I never had anything on the pill. Everything I feel now could easily be AF or early PG symptoms!
