Mid diagnosed miscarriage?

Hi, so I had a scan 8 days ago (following pain and spotting) which was diagnosed as a missed miscarriage due to the sac being 17mm with "matter" in it, no embryo or yolk sac etc. I had to wait 7 days and went to the EPU yesterday which now shows a viable healthy sac with yolk and fetal pole at 5 weeks?! (Which could be correct from dates of dtd) I was also on the pill so cannot accurately determine when I ovulated or conceived! The nurse said the Sonographers last week could of been looking in the wrong place?? So confused but I saw both scan with my own eyes, the one that was blurred edges and full of "matter" and the one yesterday that was clearly a sac and yolk! Has anyone experienced anything like this? I have another scan in 10 days to see how things are progressing x
Thanks for reading x

No advice, but just wanted to say your head must be spinning so lots of thoughts with you. Fingers crossed for the next scan

@Quiffy thank you, I don't even know what to think, I've spent a whole week thinking and waiting to miscarry, then to be told there's a viable pregnancy in there! I've even been signed off work with "miscarriage" so confusing x

It's very common at such an early stage to mis read a scan. Good luck x

Hi op, a friend of mine experienced this last year, she was under fetal medicine though who told her the most likely outcome was that she'd had 2 developing pregnancies (twins) and lost one, and one continued to grow. In early pregnancy you can't always see both sacs, if there are multiple. Hope this has a good outcome for you.

Hi OP, you poor thing, it's awful being in limbo. Don't lose hope. Thinking of you and let us know what happens in the next scan.xxx
