Negative yesterday, positive today?

Hello all, yesterday I took a 10 mIU/mL pregnancy test (cheap from ebay) which was negative, this morning I took another and there is a very faint pink positive line.

My last period was on 27th Oct, but for the last year my cycles have only been on average 3 weeks and 3-4 days long (with short, light periods) I'm 37 so this may be why.

My question is, would it be possible to get a positive test this early? My period isn't due for another 4 days. But I do think that I ovulate fairly early on in my cycle.

Going to re-test tomorrow but just wondered what the chances of this test being wrong might be. Thanks in advance!

It's possible it's reading true- the closer you get to af the more likely it is as the hormone concentrations increase. Depends how accurate the test truly is etc. You could try a frer as that's supposed to be fairly good up to 6d before af (worked for me in the past) or try again in the morning or a few days to see if you get a darker line. Good luck x

Thank you for the reply, I've just ordered a frer and will be delivered today so I'll try again tonight Smile

Good luck!

How early do you ovulate? I’ve started ovulating 3 days earlier (cd 10) and wonder if that’s problematic?

mywrencalls · 17/11/2019 23:47

@Livingmagicallyagain Hi, I've been ovulating around cycle day 10 too. I bought a frer test earlier and tested positive this evening. My period isn't due for another 3-4 days so I've got a clear strong positive on cycle day 22. I didn't even know that was possible!

Congratulations! Of course it’s possible! I had a clear positive last time 9dpo (cd21!).

That’s great news!
