That really...he will be getting antibiotics when he gets a doc appt tomorrow or Monday...Is there a risk to conception and or health of a conceived baby if the UTI bacteria joins the party...my gut feeling is yes Sad due to OV in 5 days time...

Em nope, there’s no connection

FeckaDecka · 15/11/2019 20:49

@Nixen oh ok...I did find a medical article online that suggested there might be but have been trawling for days for info as DH regularly gets them due to kidney stones. How are you so sure? Smile

I found 1 article though so there's not much out there...but I'm not a medical professional so can't access proper medical journals...

Because if that was a real thing to worry about / take into consideration then it would be all over google and you wouldn’t need to ask this question.

Alicewond · 16/11/2019 03:49

Are you misread worried about an STD?

DramaAlpaca · 16/11/2019 03:53

No, there's no connection. I'm not a medic, but I'm certain of that.

However, if the poor man has a UTI, sex will probably be the last thing he'll feel like doing.

Yes, and no, there is no connection. Sorry, but that’s one of the stupidest questions, not in the top five but may make a top twenty. If you thought about it for 2secs - how would that even go together?

over50andfab · 16/11/2019 06:51

OP, it’s an understandable question - and not a stupid one btw - as it’s based in the same part of the body - urinary tract, urine, sperm, prostate, kidneys etc. I’m sure you want the best quality sperm for any conception purposes 😁.

However the only connection there would be the UTI might decrease sperm count in your DH. If it was you with the UTI there might be more of a problem in that it might affect ovulation and choice of antibiotics, and during pregnancy any UTIs should be treated as soon as possible.

However I’m not a medic. You say your DH is seeing his GP today or Monday, so they would be the best person to ask.

I hope his UTI gets better soon and good luck!

Thank you everyone. Fwiw, dh uti isn't that bad, it's just cloudy and smelly when he goes (sorry, tmi!). He is suffering no pain or uncomfortableness. Its bloody reccuring and if we wait till it's gone then we'll never be able to ttc... Confused
