WARNING TMI

So last week I've noticed a couple of incidents of unusual bleeding.
I have had the mierana coil for 2 years now and its been really helpful as i no longer get periods. My periods before were very painful and heavy so the coil has been a god send.
However today i felt the strings come out, i gently pulled and the entire thing has escaped!!

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I'm worried because if its not correctly positioned inside the womb at all times then you're not protected from pregancy.

I am feeling paranoid that it may have slipt down into the neck of the cervix or elsewhere it may have not been protecting me for some time.

I have a toddler and baby twins so i I definalty dont want to be pregnant right now!
Whats more is i have been noticing as I've been walking around the past 2 weeks that my breasts have been aching a lot (a sign which i had very early on in all my pregnancies)

Has anyone ever experienced a coil expelling by itself before?

Yeah, mine came out after I (sorry tmi I know) fished around up there a bit when I was worried I'd left a tampon in.

Idk re the pregnancy thing. It's sounds highly unlikely but maybe do a test just in case.

Yes. My copper coil came out. I had a very heavy period about 2 weeks after it was inserted and it must have come out whilst I was on the loo. I didn’t notice at the time (I had had a baby not long before Blush). I carried on blissfully ignorant until I noticed that I felt sick in the mornings and low and behold I was pregnant. I had an abortion at about 7 weeks. I would take a test ASAP. With any luck you won’t be but it’s possible that it hasn’t been in place correctly for some time.

Thanks both for replying! I'm going to get in the doctors asap. If I'm approved for another coil, I hope my body adopts to it quickly.
The first one took a while to settle in, 3 months of horrible cramps however I would say it was worth it as once the pain subsided I barely have any bleeding whatsoever.
