Positive on a test (I think) but I've been bleeding

I'm so confused. AF was late this month and was a bit 'odd'. It only lasted 2 days but was bright red so I didn't question it.

I've been feeling exhausted like I've been hit by a truck and took a test on a whim.

Is this positive and should I be going to the docs about the bleeding.

I can’t see anything on that test, but that could just be the photo.

If it is positive, there are a few things it could have been:

A) implantation bleeding. It’s quite common, and can be like a very short period. You would expect to get a bfp about a week after such a bleed. When did you take yours?

B) chemical pregnancy. Basically you conceived, but the embryo was not viable so your body rejected it. There’s nothing that can be done in those circumstances, so no need to go to the doctor. If it’s this, your hormone levels will go back to normal soon.

C) if that’s not a bfp at all, could just be a very light period. You can get these if you’ve had an anovulatory cycle, which happens to everyone occasionally.

Basically, I don’t think there’s any reason to go to your doctor if that’s your only symptom. Test again in a couple of days in the hope that it is option A, but there isn’t really anything else to do.

I should also say, some women do experience spotting during pregnancy. If you are pregnant and bleed again you could speak to your doctor, but generally it isn’t something they can do anything about,

I can see something really faint. Try retesting in a couple of days.

I cant see anything im afraid. The doctor will only say that either a) its your period, or b) it was a very early miscarriage. Either way they wont do much for you.
