Heavy implantation - anyone?

I’m estimated 5.5 weeks pregnant and a couple of hours ago I started bleeding when I went to the toilet. There were no clots but a lot of red blood, it’s been a pretty emotional couple of hours.

I’ve spoken to the nurse on my maternity unit who has said it’s possible that it’s implantation bleeding - I said to her I was under the impression implantation bleeding isn’t heavy but she said it can be sometimes and I just need to monitor for clots which would be the real sign of a miscarriage. She said if there are no clots but I keep bleeding the only real way of knowing if I’ve had a miscarriage or not is to do a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks.

Feeling hopeful, has anyone had heavy bleeding and gone on to have a successful pregnancy?

For what it’s worth I have one child already and have never miscarried.

Unfortunately I would say it sounds more like the early miscarriages I've had OP sorry - mine have always started with either brown or red spotting/bleeding and at 5/6 weeks didn't pass any more clots than I would if it was my usual period x

I had an ectopic at 6 weeks so if you get any strong pain go straught to a&e just incase. But I also had regular fresh bleeding with my daughter- each time we managed to get in the same night a private clinic to check all was ok which wasn't cheap but saved us from worrying. I think it was cervixal erosion flaring up with the hormones and settled after about 4 month in. Good luck x
