Ttc over 40 after missed miscarriage

Just wondered if there was anyone in a similar position as I am at the moment. First pregnancy at 40yrs old ended in missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. Had 11 weeks before my period returned then 2 normal periods before a heavy one day mid cycle bleed. Biopsies at hospital were clear and consultant suggested hormone imbalance but not interested in helping as I got pregnant by myself after only 6 weeks of trying. It’s worth mentioning at this point that I had some retained tissue at the time that I felt only passed with my mid cycle bleed which was 4 months after the miscarriage. Since then had 2 very heavy periods and still no sign of a positive pregnancy test. Using a cb monitor to check for ovulation and getting solid smiley faces every month but not convinced I’m actually ovulating due to lack of ewcm the last few months. Just hoped that by now, almost 6 months on we would have moved forward. Have bought Maca for hormonal balance, taking coq10 and dha as well as conception vitamins , have bought the book fertile by Emma Cannon to read and have started slimming world to lose some weight. Don’t know what else to do to get my body back in sync but will try whatever I have to do. Hoping for some success stories or words of advice from anyone who might have been in the same position as me. Keen to hear from any over 40s. Thank you.

Hi @Liissaa really sorry to hear about your loss and all that has followed. I'm 43 and had a MMC in early October, my first loss after 3 successful pregnancies many years ago. My partner and I started again pretty much as soon as bleeding stopped as we know time isn't on our side. To make things harder we had a termination in February this year at 10 weeks as we had only been together 6 months and didn't feel ready. Really hoping we won't live to regret that decision. Ovulation day today so hoping for an early Christmas present in 2 weeks but know that may not happen. Either way we're trying to stay positive and think if it is a negative we can enjoy pre Christmas merriment and don't have the anxiety of an early scan the week before Christmas! Really hoping that thinks settle down for you and you fall again soon. Don't worry about the age thing, there are so many over 40s successfully conceiving and going full term with healthy babies. There is a really positive group on here called over 40's trying to conceive (I think) you should defo hop on the thread! Baby dust xx
