Hello ladies,
I am currently CD5 so in a few days starting again with a baby dance. This is cycle#3 trying and I know some of you are going through it way longerthan me but I am already starting to frustrate.
Currently rying arious natural ways and since tomorrow starting a Fertility nutrition plan made by a dietitian. If anyone is same time TTC or CD let's go through it together and keep each other posted Wink .

Hi All

New to this so please be gentle 😉

I'm 33 and don't currently have children. I took my last contraceptive pill on 1st October, had my withdrawal bleed from 5th October which lasted around 6 days as usual. Had unprotected sex on the weekend of 19th Oct and 26th Oct.

Had a v light bleed on 3rd Nov, which lasted around 1.5 days - assumed it was my period but given how light it was and how short, I'm now not so sure.

Did a test on 3rd Nov - negative. Tested again 6th November - still negative.

All of the advice I've read obviously says that you should test around 1 week after your missed period, but as I've been on the pill for the last 16 years, I have no idea what my natural cycle is and therefore when my natural period should be, so won't know when I've missed it!

I know it can take a while for your periods to return after coming off the pill too, so I'm super confused right now 😕

I'd also point out that I do know it's a good idea to wait for one natural period before having unprotected sex, but here we are...

So, when should I test again, if my period doesn't show?! Any advice gratefully received!

Hi @oliwc12! May I join you? Also on CD5.

Have been ttc#2 for..... a while (let’s leave it at that!)
I have to admit I’m not a fan of doing a specific diet as I’d be cooking separately for DD (who is 3), which is just a little too much for me right now! I do take the usual pre-conception supplements and make sure I have plenty of fruit/veg, but otherwise I haven’t done anything about my diet.

@TimeOffWork, I’m not sure if this is really the right thread for this question, but as you’ve asked it....
Even at the absolute extremes of likelihood (you ovulated 5 days after the second lot of unprotected sex and conceived at this time) you would expect to get a positive by the end of this weekend. I assume you are ttc? If so, it can take a little while for your cycle to settle down, when I first came off it took 3 months before I had a proper bleed (after an initial withdrawal bleed). If you are really keen to know when you ovulate, you could start temperature charting, otherwise I’m afraid you will just have to wait. If you continue dtd in the absence of a period, I would recommend taking a test once a week - you can get cheap multipack ones on amazon so that this doesn’t cost you an absolute fortune.

Apologies didn't mean to hijack the thread - was struggling to find the best place to post! (like I say, new to all this 🙈)

Thank you for your advice in any event 🙂

@TimeOffWork Like @crazychemist said, try BBT charting. Check your basal body temperature every day and you'll probably recognize your cycle better. BBT charts are one of the natural methods I use also, it's really surprising how it changes during the cycle. Can't wait until the CD14 Blush

@crazychemist I've never tried any diets from a dietitian but this one consists of recipes for two so it's great for me and my husband, but I know children might want to eat sth else Grin

Hey guys can I join?
Ttc number 2 and it's my third cycle, like you @oliwc12 I am already frustrated even though others have been trying longer yes. I guess it's the fear of the unknown? Not knowing when or if it will happen is what gets my anxiety going.
So I'm around 5-6dpo I broke out in really bad cyst acne today 😭 no symptoms just very light cramping and sort of pulling feelings but I'm really trying not to look into that as who knows if that's a sign or not!

When will everyone be testing?? My period is due 15th or 16th, if it doesnt come by the 16th I'll test

oliwc12 · 08/11/2019 08:19

@Ellsbells112 I will be testing ovu this weekend. Last cycle I was so sure about these symptoms so similar to the pregnancy, binged on youtube videos where girls get a BFP already like 8 dpo and spent a fortune on pregnancy tests Blush. I literally felt cramps, had nausea and everything and AF arrived perfectly on time so it was a big dissapointment.
This time I hope I'll make it at least until 10 dpo to make a pregnancy test

Hi everyone, pleased it's not just me that's getting obsessed with it all this early on! @TimeOffWork I'm in a similar situation - came off my pill on 19th September, finished my withdrawal bleed as normal on 28th September but absolutely nothing since. If I counted my 1st day of withdrawal bleed as CD1 then I'm currently on CD46 Hmm but I know thats not accurate as not a real period - argh so frustrating to not know where I'm at! I've done a few random OPKs but all negative and temp tracking probably won't work for me as I work shifts including nights so would be impossible for me to consistently monitor as the same times.
We are TTC #1, I'm 25 and hubby 26, both fit and healthy which I think is making it more frustrating as I wanted it all just to happen straight away! Silly of me really I know. Trying to make sure our diets are healthy and been taking my conception supplement from Boots since coming off the pill.
I was on the pill for about 11 years, went on due to heavy periods but I've got no idea how regular they were at all back then. If I could go back I definitely wouldn't have gone on it so soon. I had an ultrasound at the time and everything looked ok so I'm hoping that's still the case and my body is just taking a while to know what it's doing again.
Good luck everyone x

TimeOffWork · 08/11/2019 09:43

@bluebell94 I've done random OPKs too - I feel your frustration! I wouldn't even be too upset to get AF just now as at least I could then know where I am.

I was most confused by the random short bleed last weekend though - negative pregnancy test but the bleed was extremely light and lasted only around a day. Made me wonder about possible implantation bleed 🤔 - but probably wishful thinking!

I have been feeling a bit 'periody' (so far as I remember what that's like) the last couple of days, so maybe soon.

It's good to know it's not just me though, and to share the journey with people in a similar situation!

oliwc12 · 09/11/2019 14:47

When I got my AF I literally looked for any information that would suggest it was actually implantation bleeding. Simply didn't want to admit that it just didn't happen yet

@oliwc12, yup done that a few times!

DH and I have decided to give ourselves a deadline of March, at that point we’re probably going to have to give up. I haven’t done temperature charting before as I don’t get up the same time each day and am generally a bad sleeper. Have decided to take the (expensive!) plunge and ordered Ovusense as it tracks for you overnight. We already use OPKs but DH has requested a reduction in sex to only crucial times as he’s feeling quite worn out! Feeling a bit shit about it all to be honest.

@bluebell94 would something like ovusense appeal to you? It’s very expensive though. Probably not worth it unless you’re in a real hurry.

bluebell94 · 12/11/2019 17:11

@crazychemist yeah I've looked into things like that, think I'll see what happens over the next few months. Not in any hurry especially, just impatient! Smile bit bloated and crampy since yesterday and some spotting so thinking AF... which at this stage I wouldn't be disappointed to see, just want to know that everything's ok and I'm in some sort of cycle Smile
