Just turned 42. Have 2dcs (8&3), a miscarriage 18 months ago, a tfmr at 18 weeks early this year.

Since the tfmr my cycle has been a bureaucratic (previously every 27-28 days). It has varied in length from 21 to 29 days.

Except this time. It has been 36 days now. I have done a pregnancy test, well, 6. So unlikely that I'm pregnant. What's going on?! Feels unlikely to be menopause as everyone in my family has been mid to late 50s, and I feel normal. I would quite like to have a period as we will stop TTC soon due to our ages . Plus, one of my Dc just had worms and I haven't been able to take the treatment as it is not pregnancy safe.

Bureaucratic = a bit erratic

It’s quite normal to miss a period occasionally. Sometimes it can be caused by factors such as stress, diet - other times there is no explanation.

Test again in say a week or so, just in case.

Thanks. Do you know if I would eventually ovulate, then have a period(or conceive). Or will I just be in a limbo and eventually a period will hapoen?!
