@Rubyroost thanks for your update, and congratulations! Sounds like a stressful end stage but at least he is here now and healthy Smile
I was also diagnosed with polyhydramnios a few weeks ago. Now 29+3 and huge. Had the GT test and all came back normal, so they don't know what is causing it, which is a worry in itself, especially after googling. Baby is measuring average apparently.
I have planned C section booked for 39 weeks, but I think consultant on Wednesday may bring that forward to 37 weeks now. As long as baby comes out healthy that's all that matters.
But yes it's all still doable, even at our ripe old ages Smile

Rubyroost · 08/03/2020 12:42

@Ckeozeta they told me it was diabetes and then when my levels were blood sugar levels were good after diagnosis they said it wasn't diabetes that was causing it- both the diabetes doctor and the obstetrician consuktant.
I also googled and it's horrifying. Spent the last few weeks of pregnancy worrying so much. I'm on a pregnancy after loss board and there were two ladies on there that were also diagnosed with it. One went down I think so she no longer had it and the other one as far as I know still has it. Think that's Catconfusion she was a poster on here also I think. I think it's more common than we realise, rather than the 1% you read about. My partner said he saw a big water fountain when I had my c section, said it was pretty immense. So far baby seems happy and healthy. No need for special care when he arrived, I heard fluid can get into lungs etc, but he was fine passed hearing test straight away. Only problem it created for me really was the extra bleeding and uterus wouldn't contract. Good luck. I hope it goes well, perhaps you will be meeting baby sooner rather than later x

VenusTiger · 08/03/2020 17:45

@Rubyroost congratulations on the birth of your baby! FlowersBear
My DS (6yrs) was frank breech, but I gave birth naturally so didn't go through what you did - you're amazing!! Good to hear you and baby are well.
Just wanted to post to say thank you for your positive words - my DH is 10yrs older than me, and we've been ttc second for a year now. I needed a lift of positivity so thanks and congrats again.

Cleozeta · 08/03/2020 20:30

@Rubyroost I definitely think it's more common than 1%. A couple of friends have had it too, and one of them was 42 when she had it. Could it even be age related?! For once I'm actually hoping so, as then it's less likely anything bad.
Do you remember what your levels were?
So pleased your little one is healthy and well. My sonogropher from the other day suggested in most cases the majority of babies are healthy and the polyhydramnios is unexplained.

Rubyroost · 09/03/2020 16:56

@Ckeozeta yes I also wondered if age related too.

My levels were 20 at 32 week scan, then 31 at 33 weeks, 24 at 35 weeks and 19 at 36 weeks.

That's if you believe the scans of course.

My consuktant said that levels can go up and down all the time though.

claireb707 · 09/03/2020 21:06

Been to docs, shes booked me in for blood tests, told me partner has to ring to get booked in for bloods and SA. Then they can refer us on. But said to keep trying in mean time as my blood tests is for 5ish days before my next period, which is almost a month away as period only finished today 😩

Starlight39 · 10/03/2020 10:43

Congratulations on your new baby @rubyroost!

That's great you have the blood tests booked in and your DP can get booked in for his bit. The wait is annoying though!

Chatbash72 · 10/03/2020 12:48

Hubs thinks that we need a good boozy night to help us conceive good to know he's still happy to try 🤣

Starlight39 · 12/03/2020 18:32

I saw that she had @Chatbash72amd thought she must be of a reasonable age! I didn’t realise she was 45 👍.

How’s the boozy night planning going?! I think it can’t hurt to do whatever relaxes you both! I feel like I maybe should be preparing my body by being teetotal but I am just having some wine at weekends.

Chatbash72 · 12/03/2020 19:45

@Starlight39 I don't drink so boozy night not really a go but am ovulating hormones are CRAZY so we are doing every other night x

Hello ladies, we've dropped to the third page. I know there is a specific thread on the Coronavirus situation, but I wanted to drop in here and ask your thoughts. I'm absolutely terrified I'll be honest, carer for my mother and right in the middle of ttc. What is everyone else's feeling on it? Time isn't on our side, we know that, so do we keep on trying and hope hospitals etc are able to cope.? I'm scared. I'm scared about pregnancy anyway, but now I'm really scared. :(
X

Chatbash72 · 15/03/2020 22:50

From looking at articles pregnant women are being told not to worry, but this kind of thing comes in cycles remember Zika, sars.. bird flu etc
we are not stressing in our house about it, although the financial impact of hubby job well there is a worry but we have to go with the flow... the worry and anxiety can cause more problems too. Xx

OP posts:
Rubyroost · 15/03/2020 22:59

@Catclock currently sat with 14 day old baby and sick of midwives and health visitors and breast feeding peer supporters coming round to house. 'm also very worried.

They're still not sure if it can transmit in the womb or not. There's a newborn been diagnosed in UK, I was hoping they'd be an update about their condition.

The newborns in China were fine I hear, but can we trust China. I think there were also babies born to mothers with it who were fine too.

Catclock · 15/03/2020 23:05

@Rubyroost oh blimey it is such a worry for you xx It's all extra for us to panic about. I've had a fear of pregnancy all my life and always wanted an elcs if I did ever fall pregnant. Now I'm worried if after all if this I am successful in ttc I'll have all of the new stuff to be terrified of too. I'm lying here tonight sure I've ovulated and scared stiff! Not how we should all be feeling xx

Rubyroost · 15/03/2020 23:11

Well theyre predicting it'll be with us for another year so looks like can't avoid it forever. 😭

Russkispy · 16/03/2020 07:55

@Rubyroost congratulations on your newborn! 🥳🥳💐💐 is it a boy or girl?
that newborn you mentioned is fine and the mother too! They recovered, I saw in the news yesterday!
Hope you're doing well!
@Catclock it's a worrying time for everyone but we must stay calm. Anxiety/worry can bring all sorts of stress. And it's already hard as it is!
@Chatbash72 how are you?

Catclock · 16/03/2020 08:00

You're right,@Russkispy I'm not watching any unnecessary news today. Facts only. I didn't mean to bring any panic in to the thread at all. I knew you guys would help though xx

Russkispy · 16/03/2020 08:15

@Catclock that's ok, it's all worrying! As they say, stay calm and carry on Smile just heard that China reported only 4 cases now. From a massive outbreak to next to nothing! How?! Total isolation?! See how soon Europe slows down 🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Catclock · 16/03/2020 08:18

Fingers crossed!!! 🙏❤️❤️❤️

Starlight39 · 16/03/2020 09:46

Hope everyone is OK!

I'm not TTC at the moment anyway as I'm waiting for a recurrant miscarriage appointment next month (which I'm now worried won't happen - they told me the appointment date and time on the phone but no follow up letter yet!).

It's not definite but some experts believe it should die down over summer (as SARS did) and then hopefully by next winter there'll be a vaccine/treatment. If I was early 30s or under and TTC I might wait a few months but for us, I think I'd just crack on. I will as soon as I have the go ahead from the clinic.

Hope you and baby are doing OK @Rubyroost. I read something about babies up to 11 months being particularly immune because of not as many of the cells in their lungs that the virus attaches to (that's my non-scientific take away from reading about it!).

I think it's normal to feel anxious @Catclock. I agree with not watching any uneccessary news etc. I'm also not reading Mumsnet apart from notifications I get about this thread! And trying to meditate a bit and focus on positives.

kirinm · 16/03/2020 10:16

Would it be okay for me to join? I'm 42. Had my DD at 40 and now trying for another. This is our first month. My cycles haven't been consistent for about a year. They dropped down to 25 days so i was freaking out about perimenopause. Last month was 27 days so slightly more normal but not really sure when I'm ovulating (assuming I am).

I'm hoping we had sex at the right time but really not sure and tbh, trying to have sex when you're still sharing a bedroom with your 18mo is not that easy. Plus her sleep is crap so I'm mainly shattered!

Rubyroost · 16/03/2020 11:52

@Russkispy thanks its a boy, no name yet and he's two weeks old 😬😳

CritterTamer · 16/03/2020 13:39

Hi ladies, I don't check in much here anymore as I've pretty much given up hope of conceiving naturally and am just waiting for our FET in may now. For those with small babies worrying about Corona virus I would say that I'm currently at home in isolation with suspected Covid 19, and my twins who have just turned 10 months also have symptoms. The doctor has been very reassuring and says that there have been no reported deaths in children under 9 years anywhere in the world, not even in infants, and that even small babies are extremely resilient to the virus. He says I'm almost certainly suffering far worse than they are (I'm asthmatic) and that all they need is regular Calpol to help them feel a bit better. Obviously I've to watch them closely for signs of breathing difficulty but they really aren't too worried about them.
Hope this helps set some minds at test xxx

Rubyroost · 16/03/2020 13:53

Need to get some calpol before that runs out then Shock
