Hi all, can anyone else see a faint line or am I going mad!? This is a First Response Test taken at midday (after a couple of mugs of tea). AF due Thursday based on my usual 30 day cycle...

That looks negative to me. Sorry.

itsme · 05/11/2019 18:08

I can see a faint line, maybe wait a couple more days if you can x

KatyaK · 05/11/2019 18:08

I think I can see a line but very, very faint. Try again in the morning?

LordNotAgain · 05/11/2019 18:12

No not yet. The tiniest shadow does not make it positive. I'd leave it at least three days.

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 18:13

Thank you all for your replies... it is very faint I agree but after TTC for a year and testing multiple times I have never had even the faintest of line so I am feeling hopeful! I will take another test in a couple of days. A line is a line right?

sassenach84 · 05/11/2019 18:31

I see it

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 05/11/2019 18:34

Yep I see it!

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 18:37

Fingers crossed! I also took a Clear Blue Digital mid afternoon which said 'Not pregnant' although I've heard these are not very sensitive especially when AF not yet due.

I think it looks like it may be the start of a BFP. I got a very faint line at 12dpo and then on the day my period was due I got a positive digital. Good luck @Roxy1988 ! X

Wanderer1 · 05/11/2019 19:33

I see it even in your first pic - deffo a bfp.
Clear blue digital measure at 50 units HCG while FRER are normally 12.5 units. You'll need at least 4-6 days between a FRER weak positive and getting a digital to pick it up based on doubling of hcg every 48 hours

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 19:33

Thank you @bellebox19!

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 19:37

@Wanderer1 thanks I will wait until at least the weekend to take another Clear Blue Digital although hoping I won't need to as I have a FRER ready to take on Friday (1st day of missed period)

Looks like something in your first pic, not sure if there's any colour but it's hard to capture in photos.

FYI taking taking the test apart invalidates the result and will give false positives on FRERs. I've tried it myself on a definite BFN, when taken apart the strip showed as a faint positive. Trust what you see when it's in the case and don't open it up.

inneedofsanity · 05/11/2019 19:55

I fiddled about with the contrast, there is def a second line... 😁👍 Congrats!

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 19:57

@codenameduchess thank you for the advice I know I shouldn't really be taking it apart 😩 I'll try and be patient and wait a few days to re test

sarahc336 · 05/11/2019 19:57

I can see the line but agreed it is very faint, fingers crossed for you though!!! Xx

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 20:00

Wow thanks @inneedofsanity!

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 21:03

Thank you 🙂

OP posts:
xblx · 05/11/2019 21:08

@Roxy1988 did it show up straight away? Mine looks kinda the same but didn't show for about 20 minutes 😩

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 21:26

@xblx it came up within about 5 minutes. When is your AF due?

OP posts:
xblx · 05/11/2019 21:34

I'm not sure my cycle is all over the place I had my af on 24 of September and spotting on 14-17 of October and that's it 😫

Roxy1988 · 05/11/2019 21:40

Could the spotting maybe have been from implantation? Sorry I am pretty new to all this I'm sure someone more experienced may be able to advise...
