Semen test/ovulation clash

Can anybody relate?

We've been TTC with PCOS for over 12 months and my husband is now due a semen test on Thursday morning. My dilemma is I'm due to ovulate on the Wednesday and he apparently isn't meant to ejaculate for 2-7 days prior to his test, but I don't want to miss another month!

We've waited 7 weeks for this appointment and I'm back at the clinic myself in December so timing is making things difficult.

What would be the worst thing in the world if we dtd?

We've been using OPKs and bbt so I'm as confident as I can be that if we don't we will miss it ..

They are really insistent about this every time we have had a test. I think it makes a big difference. If you are wanting your fertility appts to give you the best picture of what is going on I would follow the rules. If you BD and then his results arnt great then the clinic might just role with that as your cause rather than fully investigating you. Plus you have to write on your form when you last ejaculated anyway

Sperm live a few days so have sex 2 days before you ovulate?
