Hi ladies,
I’ve read that there are people on here who suffer with PCOS who may be able to help me..
After a diagnostic ultrasound for pelvic pain, the GP has told me that both of my ovaries are polycystic but I don’t necessarily have PCOS. I did now know there was a difference? How could having polycystic ovaries effect my fertility? - Have been TTC since January so this may explain why nothing has happened yet... my cycles are around 30-40 days and I believe I am ovulating.
Thank you in advance x

To be diagnosed with PCOS, you need to have 2 of the 3 following; irregular periods, blood tests that show hormone imbalance and cysts on the ovaries.

I like you have cysts on my ovaries, the cysts as I've been told are old maturing eggs ready for ovulation that never release so therefor you don't ovulate.

I tried to conceive for 9 months before being given tamoxifen. I then conceived the first month of taking it.

Good luck in your ttc journey x

I have PCOS.. was due a scan Wednesday to check on them as I haven't had a scan on them for 10 year. I have a 7 year old and just received my BFP today after my first cycle from stopping the pill! Try not to worry to much x

I have PCOS and was put on a Low GI diet to regulate blood sugar levels prior to TTC - I continued this throughout pregnancy along with regular scans and blood tests. Luckily I had a very good gynea who specialised in fertility issues associated with PCOS. Good luck!

I have pcos and I can't stress enough the importance of a low carb diet. Low carbing regulated my periods, help me shed weight and conceive after 5 years of infertility
