Lines not getting darker please help??

So I had a miscarriage in August and haven’t had a period since but I have been ovulating.

I got my first positive on 31/10 which is about 12dpo. However the lines since 13dpo haven’t gotten any darker in fact seem to have gotten lighter. I’m so worried I’m going to have another miscarriage. Does anyone have any positive stories or any suggestions.

Weirdly my 13dpo wee wasn’t my first wee of the day it was middle of the day and the 14 and 15th are first wees.

It's only 3 days between 12 and 15 so I really wouldn't worry. My lines were pretty faint and didn't get particularly dark until later on. Well, actually for my sanity I stopped testing and just waited to see what would happen but I am now 38 weeks pregnant. Good luck - I really would try to stay positive as you have the BFP xxx

Whyhaveidonethis · 03/11/2019 09:51

I've had this 3 times and each time I'm sorry to say it was a chemical. That said it doesn't mean that yours is. It could just be slow increasing hcg and you wee is more dilute. I'm afraid you ate going to need to wait a few days and see what happens. Hugs. It's so stressful

June1987 · 03/11/2019 11:04

I found another digital so just done that with not first urine and it came up pregnant. So I don’t know if it was a chemical if it would show that or if it wouldn’t by now?

I know there isn’t a lot I can do either way just finding this all difficult to cope with after the miscarriage. Thank you for your help x

Hcg levels are higher in the evening or late afternoon. It’s just wee is more concentrated in the morning. Try holding your wee for 3-4 hours from 1-5 and don’t eat and only small sips of water.
Sadly when my test were like that it was a chemical. Are you one day late?

June1987 · 03/11/2019 11:14

The 13dpo test was actually taken in the afternoon and the 14 and 15 were first thing in the morning. I was due AF Friday (but don’t 100% know as haven’t had a period since miscarriage)

I’ve sent hubby out to get another first response and I will try taking one this afternoon. I was half expecting the digital to say not pregnant and would’ve dropped below those levels to determine a pregnancy.

Congratulations! Wonderful news xx
I need a second opinion- I've inverted the colours. Can anybody see a second line or am I going mad?

MrsF94 · 03/11/2019 12:38

@88Rose I definitely see a shadow of a line! Grin

Flossylou · 03/11/2019 13:09

I had the exact same last month and mine ended up as a chemical. Really hope this isn't the case for you Thanks

MyDcAreMarvel · 03/11/2019 13:37

Hope this afternoons test is darker June.

June1987 · 03/11/2019 14:08

@MyDcAreMarvel thank you very much for the help you have given. Unfortunately hubby went to 5 shops all of which didn’t sell FR and our local chemist isn’t open today.

However he did manage to get a clear blue non digital (which to be perfectly honest is a bit pointless as don’t have much to compare it to) but here it is. I managed to wait a few hours but then really needed a pee.

I do feel pregnant as I’m getting few cramps on and off and my boobs are so painful. I’m not trying to get my hopes up though.

What do people think to this? It also looks a bit darker in person but hard to capture.

That's what my clear blue looked like last month... I did exactly the same as you and tried a different test but then like you say you have no comparison.

I really feel for you it's such a horrible time that you should be enjoying not worrying... it literally consumed my life for a week last month, I tested early and didn't bleed till 20dpo.

The hospital did say to me that you can have faint tests because you don't always know when you implant it's not an exact science. There's not much you can do but wait, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

June1987 · 03/11/2019 14:23

@FlossylouSo it looks like I’m out! Honestly feel gutted. Don’t think I can go through it again.

Thanks for your help anyway.

I got a positive OPK on 19th October but without having a period in between my miscarriage and this not too sure where I am.

Hope things workout for you and you get your sticky bfp soon.x

Bellasblankexpression · 03/11/2019 14:32

Have you started bleeding OP?
I'm sorry if it's a chemical, I've had one and it really messes with your mind. It's why I didn't test early this time, because I felt like I'd rather not know early if it wasn't going to work out.
My first responses looked like yours unfortunately :( it could just be slow building hormone, but the only thing to do is wait and see

Flossylou · 03/11/2019 14:36

I really hope you're not but it's so similar to what happened to me last month, I think I asked the same question as you on here.

Hugs to you, ttc is such an emotional drain but I'm sure we will both get there. X

June1987 · 03/11/2019 14:47

@Bellasblankexpression no bleeding, just the test lines aren’t getting stronger. So looks like it could be a chemical.

@Flossylou thank you for being honest. Did you have pregnancy symptoms too like sore boobs etc? I’m sorry this also happened to you, it’s so hard every month.

With my son I only did like 2 tests and didn’t think much of it as just took it as positive but since my MC I’m so paranoid and looks like I had right to be.

Here’s baby dust to all x

@June1987 Hi June, I think HCG doubles every 48 hours. But it could just be low levels as very early on. Why don't you book an appointment with the nurse for a HCG blood test instead? X

Flossylou · 03/11/2019 14:55

Yes I had loads of symptoms too, I went to the hospital because I was worried it was ectopic so they tested my hcg it's wasn't high as it could of been but they said I could be earlier than I thought- even though I knew that wasn't possible. Then another test 48hours later and it had dropped but I'd already started bleeding before I got the call.

I had an ectopic in January so I was the same as you kept testing because I just wanted the dark line.

I hope I've not been too honest with you because you could have a totally different outcome, I really hope you do.

I don't think the hospital will do any tests because you've got light tests my doctor wasn't really interested i took myself to ane.
Let me know how you get on x

sauvignonblancplz · 03/11/2019 15:01

My test lines never ever got very dark and my current 18mo is perfect. Try and stay positive .

OhTheJoys1 · 03/11/2019 15:04

@june1987

I hope all goes well with this month, but I have been meaning to write a post for a while.

I became pregnant 5 months ago, after 9 months of trying. I too, did many pregnancy tests that kept fluctuating in darkness. I was so worried! I honestly believed that was it.

I did'nt really accept this pregnancy was going to end well
until I felt baby moving at 14 weeks.

I loved mumnet conception board, but looking back, It caused so much fear and terror in me that I really had a hard time in first 11 weeks or so. I Honestly believed that I was having a chemical when my tests were not getting darker but here I am, 5 months pregnant and baby is kicking away as I type.

I also spotted at 5 weeks, 9 weeks and 14 weeks- all fine.

I wish you nothing but luck, but please try not to cause yourself to worry more than you need to.

At present, you have a positive no matter what will be. Just focus on that for now. x

June1987 · 03/11/2019 15:07

@Flossylou I’m and nurse and my dads a doctor so I can get get my bloods done but obviously can’t do it till tomorrow. Just want to sit down and cry!

Sorry about your previous ones. It’s so hard to be knocked down all the time.

@sauvignonblancplz thank you for that. With my son the couple I did we’re all very faint but I didn’t keep testing so unsure on what they would’ve looked like.

Unfortunately all I can do is wait, but I’m not hopeful unless I magically get a dark line tomorrow when the frers eventually arrive from amazon.

Thanks all x

@OhTheJoys1 thanks for much for this! My husband actually wants me to come off here as he thinks it’s having a negative effect.

He says it’s positive on every test done, until it says otherwise or I bleed let’s not worry! Very much easier said than done though. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I’m so glad everything worked out for you. x

OP posts:
Flossylou · 03/11/2019 15:28

The best thing to do is to do exactly what your husband says. Stop testing and just wait and see.

We're all different and if you had faint tests before it could very well be that you have a really hcg starting point, I think we all have different levels.

I hope I haven't terrified you, I feel terrible now. People were honest with me when I asked and I appreciated it - my husband was the same as yours mostly because he was having to deal with all the emotions. I work in public health and I'm normally quite a rational person but I literally lost my marbles for a week.

Really keeping everything crossed for you x

June1987 · 03/11/2019 15:33

@ Flossylou oh sorry I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. I really appreciate your honesty.

I think your right in regards to husbands, I don’t think they really know what to do. Plus mine is generally laid back about most things too.

In regards to jobs, if I was one of my patients I would probably think they were nuts, but you just can’t help it can you.

Thanks again for sharing your experience. I hope you get your bfp soon.x

Your dh is right June , although my lines resulted in a chemical that does not necessarily mean yours do. And I think the info is making you feel worse, is not really reassuring for you.The only thing you can really do is wait and hope.
