Codeine and ttc

Hey, quick question.
I take quite a lot of codeine as a painkiller for my endometriosis and headaches, does anyone know if this can effect my chances in getting caught pregnant? I have a Gynecology appointment in December for my pelvic pain so I will ask more questions then. We've just both started taking vitamins and using the clear blue advanced opk. Just don't want anything to effect it anymore and if codeine could be an issue maybe I'll try and cut it down until my appointment at least.
If anyone has any advice would be great. Mr google hasn't helped much.

Hi. Good luck with ttc.
I was on codeine after a serious accident but was ttc. I was told under no circumstances to take it whilst ttc by a specialist consultant in pain meds. I really struggled (I had broken my neck 18mth earlier) without pain killers, but got my little person; so it's worth it.

@GlamGiraffe wow sorry to hear about the accident. Okay thank you for the advice, maybe I will have to cut down dramatically then as I do take a lot of the stuff for pain. If I can manage with just paracetamol then hopefully this will increase the chances. How long did it take you to conceive? Xx

Take long term 10yrs plus, no issues conceiving at all, 2 dds

I was on long-term codeine when I conceived (for abdo pain that was eventually diagnosed as endometriosis). As far as I’m aware it doesn’t affect conception, we had difficulties but they were down to male factor issues and the endo. I took it through my first two trimesters because I couldn’t function without it and I didn’t have many other options. I was told I had to have a hospital birth and have an alter on my notes for the resus team to stand by as it can cause breathing issues at birth. They also said DD needed to be monitored for 48 hours after the birth for sign of opiate withdrawal. I actually managed to wean off the codeine a month before I had her and she was fine. I’d been told I could take codeine when breast feeding too by a consultant but she had a period of respiratory depression so I never did again. I understand since DD was born (2013) advice has changed for breast feeding and it’s now contraindicated. Good luck with it all.

Thank you for your replies. I will speak to my Gynaecologist when I see him in December anyway but just wanted some feedback from people. Me and Partner are trying our hardest this month. No alcohol at all and fertility vitamins plus thenCB advanced sticks. No smiley face yet though and on cycle day 13 now, does anyone have any experience with this too. Would be helpful xx
