Moving on from the October threads, join in those that will be testing at the end of November. (Which also happens to be my birthday!)

Hi everyone! Can I jump in? Smile Came off the mini-pill a couple of weeks ago and just having what I assume is my withdrawal bleed now. I know it can take a while for my body to be back to normal but I'm going to test end of November anyway Wink good luck everyone!!

CiaraJ01 · 31/10/2019 09:27

Hello!
Can I join?!
I'm so new to all this...and so lost! 😂 We stopped 'avoiding pregnancy' last month and expected to immediately fall on 😂🙈 It didnt happen.
So now want all the help we can get to officially this month...and I've no idea where to begin. I've seen the OPK kits but not even sure when to start using them, or which ones to go for?

Skygirl1983 · 31/10/2019 10:00

Good morning and welcome ladies! Good luck on your journeys. With regards to OPKs there are so many out there. Personally price is a big factor for me as ttc can be costly! But have a look on amazon and you can get various different kits. I have just ordered easy@home kits of 25 strips. I reckon that should do me around 3 cycles. They reccomend starting to use the around the beginning of your fertile week everyday at the same time and hope should pick up your ovulation. Also reccom using some app of tracking your cycle. I use Clue. It has been very good at keeping a eye on my patterns. A few of us this month are going to give pre seed a go too. It is a lube that is supposed to aid conception and has good reviews. Feel free to ask any questions though and we will all try to answer. Its different for everyone but we are all in the same boat too!!

My period is still here!! Hurry on 😂

Skygirl1983 · 31/10/2019 11:31

@xoJellybean mine usually lasts around 4 days. Day 3 for me. Should come to an end tomorrow. My pre seed should arrive tomorrow all ready to get back on it!!

@Skygirl1983 Thank you! I seen earlier in the thread your bulk order on Amazon, so ordering those OPK kits! I think I'll terrify my OH if I turn up with pre seed on our first attempt so might wait till next month for that! 😂
I use WomanLog app to track periods anyway because I'm so forgetful, but now I'm actually paying attention to it all - I'm not convinced it's any good! It says I've a 27 day cycle, meaning I ovulated this month on the 15th - but then AF arrived early and pushed it back 3 days. I'd have expected it to be more accurate after using it so long, so think OPK is the way to go, will look at Clue now thanks! Do you test about a week before you think you're ovulating?
@xoJellyBean does your OH think it's great your rushing through AF to DTD? 😂

mellymoo86 · 31/10/2019 12:45

@xoJellyBean @Skygirl1983 mines around 5-6 days so a few more days to go. I normally start ovulation sticks from day 10 which works as my fertile window is a day or two from there. Arghhhh!!!! So close! I sent my calendar to my hubby and said don't do ANYTHING during these days lol

Skygirl1983 · 31/10/2019 13:25

I'll start testing around day 10 too. What time of day do you reckon is best for testing? I tended to do it after work as it doesn't require fmu does it?? The ones I had last time did show a line before ov cos afterwards there was nothing there. I just missed my peak as I was away.

Skygirl1983 · 31/10/2019 13:28

I'm already marking in my calendar must dtd days as 8th, 10th and 12th November!! Anything else will be an extra bonus!!

Hi, please can I join you ladies? I've been reading this thread and catching up on last months too as I am new to TTC, trying to understand all the abbreviations is hard enough Smile

I am recently married, returned back from my honeymoon less than 2 weeks ago, and decided to stop taking my Yasmin pill at the end of of my last packet (last pill was Monday 15th Oct) and my withdrawal bleed lasted from Thurs 17th - Tuesday 22nd give or take a day as I was on honeymoon and there was over 11 hours time difference when it started!

I have been tracking my cycle on Ovia for a few months now (although I get that these were false cycles given that I was on the combi pill) and taking pregnacare conception since August, my husband has also been taking the wellman fertility vitamins.

According to my ovia app my fertile days are from last Sunday 27th - Friday 1st Nov and my next period will be due on the 13th Nov. Again I know this may change as I haven't had an actual period since coming off of the pill.

But I was wondering whether any of you have experience of tracking your cycles whilst taking the pill compared against being off of contraception? Do they stay similar?

I ask because I started opk tests last week, I'm not expecting anything to happen this month at all, it's more just to get me familiar with my ovulation and cycle ready for next month. But my opks tested completely negative with no line at all on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th. I retested again on Sunday just gone and a line appeared (although this has come up as low and isn't as dark as the test line). However, I've tested every day since and had 3 days of low readings, with today's reading going back to nothing.

Do you think I can take this as confirmation that I have ovulated as my ovia app predicted or do you think it's just an indication that hormones are messed up whilst adjusting to coming off the pill?

I guess what I'm asking is can you still ovulate with a low reading if the rest of the month you are showing nothing at all? Or should I be waiting for a very dark purple line?

Sorry to sound like a novice! Trying to get my head around all of this! Any advice is welcomed

End of November, jump on board!
CiaraJ01 · 31/10/2019 13:39

Thank you and @mellymoo86 . Day 10 is this Monday for me so I'll get on the ordering sharpish!

mellymoo86 · 31/10/2019 13:50

@Skygirl1983 I normally do it first thing in the morning. On peak days I might sometimes do it morning and late afternoon.

I plan to dtd on 8th, 9th, 10th ,11th and 12th lol. Morning and Evening. I should be at my peak on the 10th and 11th so 12th is a maybe. Lol

Skygirl1983 · 31/10/2019 13:54

@mellymoo86 theres no way I'm getting twice a day in!! My hubbies sex drive isnt that great as it is!!

OP posts:
mellymoo86 · 31/10/2019 14:11

@Skygirl1983 I don't care, make him do it! Lol. The amount you're doing it is enough anyways, they say even twice during that period over a week is fine.

ChampooPapi · 31/10/2019 14:39

I'd like to join @Skygirl1983, thanks for starting this thread.

I went to my 12 week scan ten days ago and unfortunately things had stopped a long time ago as far as developing goes. Had a d&c the next day and I've tested negative today so ready to get straight back on ttc this weekend.

I'm so glad I can join a thread for this month , the last few weeks have been difficult but I have two children already so odds were against another text book pregnancy.

November dust to everyone 🙏

xoJellyBean · 31/10/2019 14:49

@CiaraJ01 yes he does!!! He could literally go every day lol I don't know how men do it!

Mystie · 31/10/2019 14:58

@ChampooPapi so sorry to hear your sad news I hope you have lots of support and are looking after yourself 💝. I think we may have chatted on the May thread, I also miscarried early this month but am hopeful for this month! Lots of love and baby dust xx

ChampooPapi · 31/10/2019 15:11

@Mystie so good to see your response on here, reminds me why I joined mumsnet. It gave me such a warm feeling to read your reply. We did chat on the May thread, i didn't want to post on there before everyone had got past their 12 week scans as it could really freak some people out I thought if I told of my 12 week scan bad times.

We just have to get back on the ttc journey, it'll happen for us and it'll be a better time and a much healthier baby this time round. We will not be unlucky again, those chances are so small now we've had our losses so let's do this, a big virtual hug to you 🤗

Mystie · 31/10/2019 15:22

@ChampooPapi 100% this is definitely our time! I love your positivity, sometimes you can get bogged down in the worst case scenario. I've just finished first af, CD5 so lots of BD next week. Here for you whenever you need a chat or virtual hug 🤗 baby dust for all of us xxx

CiaraJ01 · 31/10/2019 16:01

@xoJellyBean I dont know either! I'm so surprised at my OH's drive already 😂

@ChampooPapi and @mystie sorry to hear your sad news, fingers crossed this time! x

Skygirl1983 · 31/10/2019 17:19

Hi @Balbaby and @ChampooPapi. Nice to have you here.

@Balbaby sorry but I don't have much advice really. I have never had the pill so dont know what it's like for cycles etc. I had a coil which was removed about a year ago and my cycles where good straight away. However we weren't ttc until after we got married in August. Congrats on your wedding too!! Fingers crossed for you though and hope this is the cycle for all of us!

@ChampooPapi so sorry to hear your news. Hope you are ok. It always amazed me when I had my MC a few years back how many people had been through the same. So you are definitely not alone. It's great that you are ready to get back on it so soon!!

Is anyone doing anything exciting for Halloween tonight?? Me and the hubby are going to the cinema to watch The Joker. Wetherspoons curry beforehand but its veggie night for us tonight so it will be the sweet potato and chickpea curry!

mellymoo86 · 31/10/2019 17:28

@ChampooPapi @Mystie sorry to hear about what you have gone through. Admire you both for being so strong and positive. I am feeling positive this month for all of us. Lots of hugs to you all xxx

mellymoo86 · 31/10/2019 17:32

@Skygirl1983 nothing much tonight, I'm currently having a tea and my wedding cake (I froze it) lol. Oh and watching love island (don't judge me). Is curry from Wetherspoon nice? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Skygirl1983 · 31/10/2019 17:35

@mellymoo86 I wish I froze some of mine. I loved it! We just ate loads of it for a week after the wedding. Its curry club on a Thursday. They are actually quite nice and great value too.

OP posts:
mellymoo86 · 31/10/2019 17:41

@Skygirl1983 I think the last time I went to a Wetherspoon was uni. Time flies! I'm Sri Lankan so I make and looooove curry ❤️
