I have two DC with my bastard ex husband.

I'm now very happily with DP who is younger than me and childless.

We've been ttc for a year now with no luck but I know we've not been great at timing things right.

We had a chat last week (when AF appeared again) and have decided to give it another year but have agreed that we won't be going down the medical route due to my obstetric history (gastly) and the fact we'd rather not spend £20k on something that probably won't work.

I'm 38.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

I also have 2DC with my horrid ex, am 36yrs and my partner is a few years younger than me. My partner does have 1DC with his ex though.

We have been TTC as we would love a child together. It took me 8 months to conceive but sadly ended in MC at 12weeks. MC happened 5wks ago now so we have started trying again but I am very worried it may happen again. I am worried time is running out and there’s a huge gap between my 2 (15 and 13yrs) and even with my partners child 5yrs. I also not too happy in my current job but don’t want to think about leaving and losing maternity pay. It’s a hard unexpected position to be in 2nd time round as with my ex I got pregnant straight away and had healthy babies. I do know of people who have big age gaps and are now older mothers who managed to have healthy babies so guess there is hope.

I’m 37 and ttc #3. We have only just started trying but I feel so much more pressure this time because of my age and the risk of things going wrong. My periods have been very irregular the last few months so I’m worried that it’s a sign my fertility isn’t what it was.
Sorry to hear about your miscarriages alphabetti. Fingers crossed we see those bfps soon.

Hello 👋

Sorry to hear about your losses @alphabetti I've been there and it's incredibly hard.

It look me a long time to conceive DS1 a decade ago so I'm not too surprised it's taking a while now!

It would be great to get some bfps on here. My cycles are now 32 days which is a massive improvement on the 45 -60 dayers I used to have!

Are either of you taking supplements? I'm only taking the pregnacare conception ones (and making DP take the male ones too!) but I've seen women taking all manner of things on other threads.

Fingers crossed for us 😊

Waves at everyone. I'm 39 and TTC#3. It's the first for DP and I.

We're on cycle 2 and I've just had a positive OPK. So here's hoping. I have never actually TTC before (two happy accidents while much younger) so it's an odd thing. I expect I'm far less fertile than I was 10 and 20 years ago.

Sorry about your loss @alphabetti.

Hi everyone. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Cycle 3 TTC #1 after mmc in July. Age 36. 🤞🥰

alphabetti · 28/10/2019 20:50

@LatteLover12 I’ve just been taking some multi vitamin capsules that cost £5 for 30 (1 a day) from Morrison’s. Just thought no harm in adding vitamins to my body and they contain folic acid too.

LatteLover12 · 28/10/2019 21:25

Thanks @alphabetti that sounds better than £25 on pregnacare!

CD10 here and I usually ov between cd16-18 so I'll probably crack out the OPKs tomorrow.

DP is super busy with work this week but I've told him I'm not interested in his excuses!! 😂

Hope everyone else is getting on ok 😊

Hello no I'm also ttc number 3 I'm aged 39 and I'll be 40 in February. I had my other two children at 31 and 34 or
We are trying since the end of January had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks in may still nothing since then
I know three or four the month mirror off timing
I've now started acupuncture and being truthful sessions I'm taking some extra supplements and this month I've started using clearblue digital ovulation kits
which I'm kind of worried about now because I've had a flashing face since Thursday and it's now Monday and still no solid
I think I'm ovulating a bit later as it's now day 16 going into 17 I hope I'm ovulating anyway

WooMaWang · 29/10/2019 08:50

@teachermam last cycle I used the CB OPKs and got 5 flashing smileys before a solid on CD17. I was wondering what was going on with all the flashing smileys. And then had to wait til CD34 for AF. This time I got nothing and then a solid smiley on CD11.

I had a mirena removed at the start of September so I'm hoping that my cycle has figured itself out now.

I read It Starts With The Egg yesterday and ordered a tonne of supplements off amazon. We've both been taking CoQ10 this month and I've been taking Pregnacare Max. I'm really aware that we're both getting on a bit (we're 39 and 40 😂) so I think I'd like to just throw everything at it.

Hello @teachermam & @WooMaWang

I've just started on the cheap opks from Amazon. I can't bring myself to splash out on the clear blue ones because I take so many in a month!

Fingers crossed for a lucky thread 😀

@lattelover12 thank you so much. It's been hard but we're now focusing on the future.

Been using OPKs this month which is becoming like a hobby. I should ovulate any day now. The funny thing is I'm learning so much about my body and cycle! ☺️

LatteLover12 · 30/10/2019 12:04

I know what you mean about the opk hobby! I started yesterday and I'm not due to ov until Monday! and I do it twice a day Blush

This is why I can't afford smiley face ones!

DP needs a shake though...we had a chat a couple of weeks ago & he promised he'd be better at listening to me about timings but we haven't even gone to bed at the same time the last two nights! No wonder ttc takes so bloody long 🙄
