Ovulation please help!

So I'm new to all this and have only been trying a few months.

I'm currently 8days late... pregnancy test was negative but I did that a day after missed period.
I picked up an ovulation test by accident instead off a pregnancy test to re test.
I've just done the test anyway, my test line on the ovulation test appears to be abit darker than my control line. Is this normal?
Have no idea about ovulation or these tests

I'm not an experienced user of ovulation tests, but didn't want to let this go unanswered.

Ovulation tests can also pick up pregnancy hormones. So, combined with your late period there's a chance of good news.

Get a first response pregnancy test (most sensitive on the market) and do it first thing in the morning.

I just didnt understand why it was saying I was ovulating when I'm clearly not🙈x

I did yeah, it come back with a very faint line, nurse told me to re test in another week she would off preferred for 2 weeks but I told her I cant wait that long when I'm impatient. Hope this helps others
