Steroids for recurrent miscarriage

Hello,

Has anyone been prescribed steroids such as prednisone or prednisolane for recurrent miscarriage without being tested for nk cells?

I've read on other threads that those with elevated nk cells are given steroids as treatment but wondered if anyone has been given them without having a nk cells investigation?

Thanks xx

I've been prescribed them for my next embryo transfer (IVF/FET) by my fertility doctor after 2 miscarriages. Although we do think the miscarriages were due to chromosomal abnormalities, so the steroids are just a precaution.

@LillyLeaf I'm not undergoing ivf, I've had 3 consecutive mc's and I've read how women with recurrent miscarriage have been prescribed them by their gp. I doubt my go will prescribe them as I'm under a obs/gynaeo consultant but he's on sick leave atm. I hope your next transfer is successful xx

Your unlikely to get anything out of your GP/NHS doctor - I am under care of recurrent miscarriage clinic on NHS and they refused to offer it so I get mine via my IVF clinic

NK Cell testing isn't available on the NHS and so most doctors aren't aware/sceptical of it
