IVF advice

Hi, first time on here so not really sure how it works.

My husband and I are due to start our 1st IVF cycle, we are offered 1 round where we live. Trying to keep positive but also trying to prepare myself in case it doesn’t work. If we have any viable embryos left we have chosen to freeze them in case it doesn’t work but I think emotionally and financially we would need to take a break before trying again if it failed.

My question is if it does fail how quickly would I be able to go back on birth control? Seems counter productive when trying for a baby but after 5 years of trying with crippling endo pain I feel I would need to take a break from it all to build my strength up.

Any advice you lovely ladies could offer would be greatly appreciated Smile

You will need proper medical advice but I think if it does fail you can go back onto birth control after your period ends.

Good luck. My bit of advice it to ask for the pictures of the blastocyst.
Sadly all three of my rounds failed and the pictures are very precious to me.

PancakeAndKeith Thank you for your message. I’m sorry to hear you’ve not had success, it’s such a hard battle and after 5 years I feel I’ve only just started.

I will speak to the clinic when I next go in, I’m just so inpatient and like to plan everything in advance, guess I need to just take it one step at a time Smile

Can't answer your question regarding birth control.

But I had ivf twice and it worked both times (resulted in 1 live birth) after years of ttc.

Fingers crossed for you! Thanks
