Intense itching 33 weeks pregnant

Hi guys,

I've had itchy palms for the majority of the day and thought nothing of it.
I've just now woke up with intense horrible itching on my palms, soles of my feet and other random places especially breasts.
I'm aware of the liver condition during pregnancy but I'm wondering if there are any symptoms other than itching? Do I wait until morning? Or do I call maternity triage now for advice. I'm not currently in a position to go anywhere this late as son is in bed and husband on nights.

It's really important to get checked out as soon as you can. What time is your husband home?

familyissue · 22/10/2019 00:43

How many weeks are you? You can take piriton if you have it

I'd ring the maternity unit for advice. Not something you want to muck around with.

I'm 32+5. I took a allergy tablet around 10 minutes ago and no change, yet! I know they'll ask me to go right away and husband isn't home until gone 7. He is also uncontactable in work while on nights as he has no phone on him (companies policy) and the office is closed.

I would contact maternity triage. I think itchy palms and soles can be a sign of cholestasis or preeclampsia?
Inform them that you have a young child with you and can't leave your house atm, they may send a midwife out to you instead.
Hopefully it will be nothing serious but best get checked.

Yes get checked asap sounds like you could have OC my best mate had it and her sister needs regular monitoring.

Yes please get checked, being excessively itchy in pregnancy can be a sign of a liver problem. Having said that one of my mates had this severely in both pregnancies and with monitoring at the hospital she has now had two healthy boys so get checked but try not to worry Smile xx
