TTC / Desogestrel Withdrawl Bleed

Hi all,
Me and my partner are trying for baby #1.
I stopped taking the Desogestrel pill on the 13th October. Iv had period pains for the last 4/5 days but no bleed as yet.
I just wondered if anyone else had recently come off Desogestrel and how long they had period type symptoms before withdrawal bleeding?

I came off desogetrel on the 25th August. I didn't have a withdrawal bleed but side effects felt like AF was coming. Bad cramping, painful boobs, nausea, fatigue. I finally got my period 6 week from last pill x

Iv been on the pill / injection for around 5 years so haven't had a period for a while. My body used to be like clockwork, reading all the posts on here has made me realise how much I took that for granted. Here's hoping my cycle returns to normal pretty quickly!! X

Hello! As you say, everyone is different, but for me I had a tiny bit of spotting about a week after I came off desogestrel, then a proper period 5 weeks coming off it. I got so impatient in the meantime! I didn't really get any symptoms before the withdrawal bleed but got standard PMS-type symptoms before the first proper one. Hope that helps and let us know how it goes! x

@FutureMrsSmith I was same as you, 8 years on the mini pill so no period but I have PCOS so irregular periods. Although I was very relieved when period only lasted 5 days!! Here's hoping she shows for you soon x

When I came off cerrelle in 2016 ttc #1 I didn't have a period 5 months later I started agnus castus as heard it would regulate me and 6 weeks after that no af but a bfp.

Deffo recommend a read on agnus castus..

I'm now off the combined pill ttc #2 and I am awaiting agnus castus in the post to try that again.

@FutureMrsSmith I stopped the pill Friday and on day 1 of withdrawal.... soon as agnus castus comes I'll start taking that and hope for ovulation

I'm only on cycle one 7dpo. Having lower stomach cramps but other than that nothing else x

@MrsCl19 I've been using OPK. I caved and tested but negative. I'll try again on Halloween x

Hiya, I came off mini pill on 4th October and have yet to have any kind of bleed at all! So frustrating. I’ve also had every symptom going and had pretty bad uterine cramping 4 days after coming off it. I did a test the other day but it was negative x

@Deli111 seems quite common not to have withdrawl on Desogestrel by the sounds of it. My symptoms have completely gone. I'm going to do OPK every few days until AF arrives see what's going on! OH is going away for a week with work next week - great! 😂

1 month today was my last pill.
Have done a PH test which was negative so it's just a case of waiting.....

@FutureMrsSmith ooooh! Have you had and symptoms of either?

With my first I didn't have af for 5 months and got pregnant before my first one so I'm so hoping it happens like that again I didn't find out till 5 weeks and it made them first 12 so much quicker

I had cramping first week off the pill, then I'm sure I ovulated (EWCM and OPK testing and a pain in the left side) 17 days later. Then a week of cramping and awfully sore nipples. Cramping had gone but the sore nipples are still present. Used a FRER test at what I think is 13DPO so assuming it's a true negative. If period hasn't come in a week or so I'll test again just to be sure. Like you say I may not get the period and just fall pregnant!
We're your cycles regular previously?

@FutureMrsSmith nope never, I was on the pill from about 15 because they were irregular.

I thought the same about ovulation and just as my line was nearly as dark as the other I ran out and then couldn't be bothered to do it anymore so we're just dtd ever other or 3rd day 😂😂😂

You definitely won't have been far from ovulation by the sounds of it, and every 2/3 days seems more than reasonable! My OH works away a few nights a week and sometimes lates so we are focusing on every other day. More so around the fertile window but not exclusively. Got to keep things sweet the remaining weeks of the month but just not as planned 😂 we are both relaxed about it all at the moment.

Came off desogetrel 25th August. I had no withdrawal but my first period came 3rd October lasting 5 days! I fell pregnant my first cycle and I have PCOS!! Now 5+5 weeks 😊 x

It's really reassuring to know you fell pregnant so quickly and there really is hope for us all. I have never wanted my period to come as badly as I do now 😂

@FutureMrsSmith it will happen, just have faith. I lost 3 stone so really think that helped x

Well you deserve a reward for loosing 3 stone!
I exercise 3/4 times a week and have a balanced diet, don't drink, don't smoke so I should be the perfect candidate 😂

@FutureMrsSmith how are you getting on??

I've just got thrush 😭😭 I've only had it once before and I was pregnant so hopefully it's been caused by an increase I hormones for period or ovulation 🤞🏼

@MrsCl19 it's bitter sweet really! Could be a really good sign but then again it's not nice to have at the same time! 😂
