Confused or is it normal?

Now onto my 5th cycle and I’m a little confused and wondered if anyone else has the same thing?

Cycle #1 - 22 days long then bled for 6 days
Cycle #2 - 25 days long then bled for 4 days
Cycle #3 - 23 days long then bled for 6 days
Cycle #4 - 25 days long then bled for 3 days

I don’t understand why the longer the cycle, the less days I bleed for and shorter cycles I bleed for longer. Just wondered if anyone else has a similar pattern?

Your 'cycle' is 28/29 days long each month but your period is lasting for different number of day. Your cycle starts the first day of your period not at the end and it ends the day before your next period.

You count from that first day to find your ovulation day. You could still ovulate at the same point in your cycle even though you have a longer period one month.

Sorry I wasn’t very clear reading it back.

Cycle #1 - bled day 1-4 total 22 days long
Cycle #2 - bled day 1-6 total 25 days long
Cycle #3 - bled day 1-4 total 23 days long
Cycle #4 - bled day 1-6 total 25 days long

What I was trying to get across was I seem to have a slightly longer cycle when I bleed for more days at the start

My periods are never e same month to month so this doesn't sound alarming or strange at all to me Grin periods and our bodies are strange things and I think they just like to keep us on our toes especially when they realise we're ttc lol xx

@sarahc336 don’t I know it!

My first 3 cycles I had chemicals, thought I’d relax cycle 4, not opk and tried not to know when AF due and not even a hint of a line this time.

Hopefully 5th cycle lucky!

Could it be linked to your ovulation side. For example left ovulation might be the shorter cycle right the longer.
I find I can feel ovulation on my left and I tend to go on to have a 30 days cycle.
Right side is 29 days for me

@kona84 that’s not something I would have ever thought of.

Definitely something to consider and look out for!
