Clear blue ovulation test confusion

Hi, first time using Clearblue digital ovulation testing! I've had a flashing smily for two days (CD 12+13) does this mean ovulation is on its way? And the solid smily will appear before actual ovulation? From reading the leaflet the solid smily appears it could be up to 48 hours before ovulation? I've got myself really confused! X

Yeah so the flashing smileys are showing your body is having a surge of oestrogen, which happens in the build up to ovulation.

Static smiley is reading your body's surge of LH (luetenising hormone if I've spelled that right) which is the hormone your body needs a spike of to release an egg. LH surge indicates ovulation is going to follow within 12-48 hours usually.

You'll ovulate a day or two after your LH surge x

What the 48 hours in your leaflet is referring to, it means the static smiley face will show on your plastic holder for a 48 hour period after it has read an LH surge on one of your tester sticks. You won't be able to use another pee stick with that plastic holder again until 48 hours has passed.
