Timing of DTD & recording

I imagine this doesn't really matter very much but just wanted others opinions if possible. Due to working hours we generally DTD late on/in the early hours, say anywhere between 11pm-3am. When I'm recording this on my apps I still record it as the day before, say Saturday night when really it's actually Sunday morning for example. What you would you record it as? I've never thought it mattered as if I ovulate on the Saturday it'll still be fine for the early hours of the next morning but it's been so long now TTC I'm clutching at straws thinking I'm doing something simple wrong. Have a digital thermometer to start tracking BBT on Monday so fingers crossed that will help also!

Hi @Bunny2006 I assume you are having sex on the days of ovulation ? I’d record it personally as the day you are xx

Thank you for your reply! Yes, say ovulation day is a saturday we'll do it late that night but that's technically early hours Sunday morning. We'll try and do the Friday night too but I may be asleep before OH gets back from work haha!

You need to be having sex at least every other day for the several days leading up to ovulation day, not waiting for ovulation day then having sex the following day! Once the egg is released it’s only viable for 12-24 hours and sperm takes several hours to get to where it needs to be to meet it, so I’d focus on working out when you’re most likely to ovulate each month and then making sure to have sex at least every other day for the five days leading up to ovulation as well as the day of ovulation itself.

@18995168a Thanks for your reply! We're not waiting just for ovulation day, we are DTD throughout the month but paying more attention to ovulation and the days surrounding it. My question was what day would you choose to record sex on when it occurs in the early hours/very late on, and I guess you'd choose the following day? :)

I’d record the following day. If you ovulate early on a Sat morning egg may no longer be viable by the time you dtd early hours of Sunday.

Thanks! I'll change how I'm recording things :) Obviously we try the night before too but it can be tricky with our working patterns
