Is it possible to not ovulate?

I'm CD 15, second cycle since stopping the pill. It was 28 days between stopping the pill and having my first bleed, then 27 days between my first and second AF. I've been using OPKs since the beginning of the week, they started off very faint and now negative. Is it possible that o just haven't ovulated yet? I don't think I've missed the surge as I was only on CD8 when I started testing and now there's nothing.

Have you been testing more than once a day? I get very different results in the morning compared to the evening e.g mornings almost always hardly a line but evenings much darker so one evening I get a nearly positive, the next morning completely negative then in the evening positive.
Also if you are concerned about ovulating I would keep track of your bbt as that will give you a definite result as to whether you have ovulated, although not until a couple of days later. I used Fertility friend app to keep track of it and it is really useful.

@Daisypod I have tested morning and around 4pm, negative in the morning and extremely faint in the afternoon. According to the apps that I'm using I should be ovulating today, but I know that they aren't necessarily very accurate .

No an app will just guess when you are due to ovulate going by your cycle length but many people ov at very different times. The only was of knowing for sure it temping

It is possible to have an anovulatory cycle but not having ovulated by day 15 doesn’t mean that necessarily - I’m usually not till day 19 or 20! Everyone is different. My advice is keep testing (and shagging in the meantime as you could be in your fertile window!)

Jeees give it a few months for the effects of the pill to wear off! You might not ovulate immediately! Wish people would do their homework before getting hopes up xxx

I initially based my guess of ovulation on cm, but as I wasn't sure I started to use OPK, it was NEVER positive no matter when I tested. I gave up and went back to looking at cm and dtd all the time and got pregnant in 3rd cycle. Sadly ended in MMC but when we start trying again I won't be bothering with OPKs, will go with my body and demand constant dtd from willing DH! Good luck xx

@NotGreenNotKeen do you think that is helpful in any way? Have a think about the tone of your messages and how they might come across.

Crazymummyto3 · 13/10/2019 09:22

@NotGreenNotKeen There's really no need to take that tone, I thought that this was supposed to be a place to offer support and advice like the others of the post have done. We already have three children and each of the three times I've fallen pregnant before it has happened during my first month off the pill, so it is normal for me to ovulate straight away. This is the first time I've ever used OPKs though so that's why I was asking for advice about those.

@Crazymummyto3 I usually ovulate CD17/18 going by one step OPKs but this month was the first I used Clear Blue Digital OPK, got my static smiley CD19 (assuming I O'd CD20) and got my BFP on Thursday at 9dpo.

Your body may be raki g a little longer to regulate this time or you might not have had your surge yet. Keep going. I would highly recommend clearblue digital for obvious reasons x

Taking*

Crazymummyto3 · 14/10/2019 07:34

@CoffeeAndCarbs Congratulations ☺️ Do you have a long cycle?

MrsSokhi · 14/10/2019 07:51

@Crazymummyto3 don't worry I ovulated first cycle after the pill and I didn't ovulated after that for two cycles but my third I did. Just takes time unfortunately.
And don't worry about negative comments either we have all been in your situation and I don't know anyone who hasn't built their hopes up
I would carry on testing this month to see if you do it might just be a longer cycle this time xx

username977943 · 14/10/2019 07:52

I often have fairly long cycles so I often don't ovulate till atleast CD20. I would keep testing with this cycle you may just be ovulating abit later.
The apps were useless for me because I didn't have the same cycle every month. It just worked out an average which was wrong 90% of the time.

CoffeeAndCarbs · 14/10/2019 08:09

@Crazymummyto3 thank you 🥰 I have PCOS so my cycles aren't bang on but they have been 32 days consistently over the past 3 months (usually around 29-34). I'm assuming AF will be due CD34 this month since I O'd 2 days later). It's a long wait 🙈 I have had good daily line progression on FRER since Thursday but took a CB digital weeks indicator today and it only said 1-2 weeks when I should be 4+4 today (even adding 2 weeks, as you do, it's a little behind). Going to get another to try at the end of the week and hope it's gone up to 2-3 🤞 x
