Hello Lovely Folks,

I'm new on here, I have been browsing this forum for months and thought to join as I am now in dire need of some of you pros advice and views :-)

I had a miscarriage exact 4 weeks ago (6 weeks pregnant with twins), my bleeding stopped almost leading up to 2 weeks. Since then me and my partner have been active and recently my body feels reallllly weird.

I have irregular period (can go upto 2-3months without one - so the two week wait - I don't even know where to begin with), I have been feeling sickly, my breasts feel slightly full (but not sore - last time they were super sore) last night my body temperature was high, two weeks ago I had spotting. But everytime I have taken a pregnancy test its come with a negative? I don't know what on earth is going on...

Please advise

Many thanks :)

Hi Bloom1

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I was in a really similar situation 5 weeks ago and it's such an awful time.

Like you I had weird symptoms about 3/4 weeks after the bleeding stopped - I was so tired, had sore boobs, felt queasy - and convinced myself that I was pregnant again even though I had no idea if I had any sort of cycle going on. It only took 7 tests before I actually believed I wasn't. I think it was a combination of wishful thinking and hormones/my body playing a cruel trick.

I banned myself from buying any more tests until I've got more of a reason to believe it might be positive as it's so disheartening seeing the negative result Sad

I don't know if that's any help, but I think the continued symptoms after a miscarriage are normal.

@Bloom1 I had similar. Can gi three months before af arrives. Mc back in april and took six weeks for my hcg to go down and get a period. Expected ot to be really bad but was very light . I wanted to try again asap but af didnt show for ages and had no intention of showing so had to take provera to bring on . Took next round of clomid and expected ot to work well but when I went for my follicle scan no such luck. Temps were all over the place as were opks. My hormones were still not right and adjusted from the mc . This seems to be my first cycle back where things seem to be nearly back to normal apart from my temps. I think sometimes our bodies need some time to go back to normal

@dublino @Gr1ff Thank you for your response. I’ve been getting the faintest if faint positives that I don’t even know are worth posting on here because it would be hard to tell. My breasts don’t feel sore. Do breasts get sore straightaway or is there a build up to it? I’ve also now realised I have a UTI (sucks because I hate that discomfort feelings). With irregular periods - when is it best to test? How long after intercourse can you test? I know it’s only been two weeks since we’ve been active

Hi sorry for your loss Flowers The pregnancy loss that affected me the most made af disappear for nearly four months. But I knew stress and bereavement affects my cycle and delays it, never as much as that but by weeks. I had so many symptoms but messes up cycles mess up my hormones anyway. So it was a very hard time, but it passed. I used to test every Wednesday. As I really wanted to be pregnant again.

If you are getting faint lines, wait as long as you possibly can before testing again.

@bloom1 have you considered doing the ovulation tests to see if you can find out when you're ovulating?

I'm not an expert but without having an idea of when you're ovulating or when your period is due I think knowing when to test is a bit of a shot in the dark.
