Hi everyone,
I am looking for some advice please? My husband and I are TTC our first baby and I started taking Pregnancare conception tablets. I am just wondering if anyone has had any side effects from them? I started them a couple of weeks ago and I have been getting some pains in my tummy, feeling bloated and constipated and sometimes my pee is a bright colour!! (Sorry if TMI..!) I know I am not pregnant so just wondered if it could be the tablets? I eat a balanced, healthy diet and any blood tests I have had in the past have been fine, good levels of iron etc. I just wondered if any of you had experienced this? Should I just be taking folic acid? Thank you for your help...this is all new to me! Lol!

I started these last month and have had similar symptoms. I am now 5 weeks pregnant so put some down to pregnancy but I have noticed the bright pee!

Thanks Doubl - I know I am not pregnant and my diet etc has not changed so the only thing I could put it down to is the tablets.

Pregnacare turned my wee a bright yellow colour. Apparently quite normal.

They make me feel sick if I don't have them with a big meal. Definitely can't take them in a morning.

Thanks for your help everyone. I was thinking of maybe changing to just Folic Acid or Folic Acid + Vitamin D tablets to see if that helped any. The Pregnacare Conception tablets just make me feel quite nauseous even after taking them on a full tummy. Maybe I should try a different brand?

I'm ttc and take seven seas pregnancy vitamins - have felt fine on them and no weird pee!

Vitamin B can turn your pee yellow. Completely normal.

I've taken them for a while now, both TTC and during pregnancy.

I have all what you describe. The iron causes constipation. It's so bad when I'm pregnant, I just ended up taking the vit D and Folic acid separately.

You can pick both up pretty cheaply from the supermarket.

Thanks everyone. I might just try the Folic Acid + Vitamin D, I think Boots have those and give them a try. I just feel so bloated, sick and constipated taking the Pregnacare conception ones. I am assuming as long as I eat a healthy, balanced diet and take the folic acid that is the main vitamin that I need. Here's hoping..... No doubt I will have lots of questions and queries on this journey....

Yes, as others said, the B vitamins can turn urine yellow. One thing to note is about absorption: some women may absorb methylated forms of folate better than folic acid. And, if using CoQ10 for general fertility support, forms that are water and fat-soluble absorb better.

Yes I'm taking them, they have been a god send.
Regulated my cycles after 10 years on the pill 🙌🏻 they have been researched many many times so I would carry on taking them if I was you.
I found taking them at night helped with the sick feeling and all vitamins turn your pee coloured.
