Negative results at 16weeks

Jw but can’t you be 16 weeks pregnant and get a negative test result. I have the signs and symptoms of being pregnant but tests aren’t showing and I’ve done the calculations so if I were to be pregnant I’d be at least 16weeks! I’m not sure what else to do or how to find out for sure because even after the negative results I still “feel” pregnant.

Have you had a scan?

Mintypea5 · 09/10/2019 11:10

You need to see a midwife and get a scan. At 16 weeks they would be able to tell you were pregnant by examining your tummy (uterus position) and I scan will confirm.

Maybe call your local early pregnancy unit or midwife centre and explain

I don't think you would be getting negative results at 16 weeks but that's my opinion. Have you missed periods?

I made a referral and explained it to someone at the hospital and they only said that I should do another test in about a week and that it may all become clear within the month.

I haven’t had a full period just some light spotting towards the end of august and have had nothing since

What symptoms and signs do you have?

20viona · 09/10/2019 11:34

No it would be positive on a test even at 16 weeks.

Have you have blood works done?

Have your periods ever been off before?

MissingSilence · 09/10/2019 11:37

If the HCG is too high sometimes it doesn’t show on a test, so you could try diluting your urine with water and then dipping the test.

I’ve just now spoken to a midwife and she recommended going to my GP
