Positive one step but negative digital?

I had a positive on a one-step strip today. It's very clear in person and it's pink. I took a clear blue digital and it said not pregnant, but I've seen someone women take them apart and find out that they were actually pregnant but the second line was too faint for the reader to read yet.

Does a digital always have a second line? I know that blye dye tests are notorious for evaps, but this one is really obvious in person and a light blue. Plus with my positive one step, I'm finding it hard to not get excited. And yes I KNOW that you shouldn't open tests lol.

The One Step tests are a lot more sensitive than a Digital, so if you’re very early days pregnant (when is your period due?) then it’s not at all unusual to get a negative result on a Digital but a positive on a more sensitive test. If the line on the One Step is as clear as you say in person (I can just about see it on your picture) then I’d be more inclined to believe that than the negative result on the Digital, but the best thing to do is wait a few days and test again. On a One Step, or something like a First Response Early Results, or a cheap supermarket pink dye test. Clearblue are pretty rubbish tbf.

Digital tests will always have the two lines...however I can see a pink line on your one step test so fingers crossed!

@Nowgimmegin yes, I have heard. But I thought those were for the conception indicator ones? I'm not sure. My friend told me to open it as it happened to hers and she has a 1 year old. Or does it depend on how dark the line is? Either way one step is definately there. I just thoyght that the digital would show it me being 2 days late

I’ve known people get a negative result on a digital for ages after their period was due. They are notoriously unreliable. A false negative can be quite common, a false positive much much less so. I have my fingers crossed for you anyway Smile

I'm not 100% sure on whether the darkness of the lines is a factor (I know the test reads the darkness and determines pregnancy from that) so would make sense
It could be that you ovulated later and that's why the pink test is quite faint and the digital saying not pregnant? If you can bear to (easier said than done) then a stronger line should show in a couple days
