Hi all.

I'm out this month so I thought I would start the next bus. I hope it's our month.

@Nic555 funny you should say this... we've been trying SMEP the last 2 cycles... first cycle I Ov'd really early on CD8 so that was a fail. We did DTD this day but nothing in the lead up. Last cycle, I Ov'd late. DH was exhausted and said I'd 'bled him dry' and he was 'running on empty' 😂 luckily we saw it through but only just. We've enjoyed a couple of weeks off but ready to get back onto it (hopefully cycle isn't as long this time 🤞🏼)

@MrsLEB please could you explain what SMEP actually is? I know it's sorry meets egg but isn't that every months plan?

@Maisy24 it's basically that you DTD every other day from CD8 and start opk from CD10. Once you get a positive OPK it's 3 days in a row, miss a day, then once more for luck until af or bfp x

Ah thanks for explaining @MrsLEB . I think I might try it but I'm on cd 12 now so I'll do it from now

Do you think you can start SMEP a couple of days later if your cycle is longer? Save some energy 😊 only ever read to start on day 8. I ovulate day 21 last cycle so would be a lot of BD. But hoping this cycle is shorter again as I'm still getting back to normal after the pill so don't want to miss it either x

Haha it’s true... a lot of BD (DH will have regretted this suggestion 🤣)
But hopefully worth it! Determined not to see AF next month!

@Nic555 I Ov'd on CD21 last cycle too. You could start later but it depends how regular your cycles are. Unfortunately mine are irregular so I can't take the chance 😞

@mrsleb I'm not sure whether in regular or not yet had a 37 day, 44 day and now 32 day cycle. However this month feels like my first proper AF after finishing BC so hoping I get the same again or shorter. Long cycles are awful. Makes you more depressed if u get AF as it's so long to wait for your next chance. Xx

Bodies are so frustrating! I've just had my shortest ever cycle at 26 days, which might seem good but its such an anomaly. Not sure if it is to do with taking vit b12? Has anyone heard of this? It's thrown me (and my apps) completely off!

I'd love to try SMEP straight off the bat but we work shifts and are passing ships in the night sometimes...

@CouscousEvaporator how long where your cycles before the 26 days. Do you know what day u ovulated? Im not sure about the vitamin. I'd heard about taking vitamin b complex to extend luteal phase but then read you shouldn't take it if you're pregnant so haven't bothered getting any as wasn't sure if you should stop it after ovulation. I had my first normal cycle this month so worried if I take anything it'll mess it up. I would like a shorter cycle though so i don't have to wait so long x

@Nic555 usually 30 days, I’ve tracked since 2013!
I ovulated day 15 but usually it’s day 17. The b12 I take is mixed with the folic acid, maybe I need to switch to just FA as it’s actually made my luteal phase shorter!

That’s interesting about the b vits. I haven’t heard that before, thank you. I’m off to have a google!

@CouscousEvaporator that is a long time to be tracking. Ive just been on the pill for years didn't realise how long it can take to get back to normal. Half wish I'd come off it earlier but didn't want AF when I was getting married or on honeymoon so decided to wait till after we got married.

I can spend hours on Google and reading old threads on here. Trying to ration myself 😂 x

@Nic555 🤣 I do the exact same; addicted to reading stuff on here.

I do think it helps talking to others on here that are in the same boat. I can't imagine what this was like decades ago with no internet and no ivf. We have to be thankful for the many options we have now at least!

Although I've got a good feeling about this month for all of us

@Maisy24 I've banned myself from Google and old threads for the rest of the month. Only allowed to look at the ones I've already commented on 😂 I'm glad you're feeling positive. I'm hoping to feel the same in the next couple of days. Had a lot on in work that's caused me unnecessary stress but now that's sorted I'm going to concentrate on relaxing to give myself the best chance. What CD are you on now? xx

@Nic555 I'm going to do the same, yeah try and relax now and not get too stressed. Easier said than done though! I'm on cd14 now, i think I've ovulated today but not certain, hopefully my temp rises tomorrow. What about you?

Cycle 7 (TTC since Jan)
Due / BFP around 5 November

Determined this cycle! 2nd using OvuSense which I like as I never got on with BBT temping and though I feel it was a couple of days out, it was nice to see my temp graph throughout the cycle.

Last cycle was 31 days which is freaking awesome as since coming off the pill in Jan they have varied from 42-52 days!

Have got some Proceive Max to try as have been taking Pregnacare since January with no results.

Gonna try and have sex every other day from now (don’t know if that’s SMEP) but I was concerned we aren’t DTD that much (after 10 years sex drives go down can’t just be us haha).

My predicted ovulation dates are 7 days apart on my two apps so I am just going to wing it this cycle. OH is super chilled so I’m best not to scare him on cycle 1 😆

@ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia I am very interested in ovusense. I find that when I know I’ve got to take my temp I always wake up regularly in the night, probably making it all invalid anyway! I’m guessing ovusense averages it all out through the night? Or disregards when you get up to let the cat out 😆

Cycle - technically only #2 as I fell pregnant on #1 but had a miscarriage at 6 weeks
Due - should be around the 5th November but who knows what's actually going on with my body atm?!

I haven't tried using OPK or anything yet as I'm (naively) hoping my 28 day cycle is now back and it will happen as quickly as the first time!

Hey @ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia we are quite similar. I'm 28 and we've been ttc since January too. My BFP is also due on 5 November. We are doing SMEP going to start from tomorrow as my cycles are quite irregular! FC for us both 🤞🏼

Also meant to say... we have been together 9 years and our sex drives have gone down too 😂 so this has been a change for us dtd so much

@ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia totally agree on the sex drive! I've been with dh nearly 10 years and every other day is a struggle when we've been at work all day. I can't imagine the people that do every day of the month! I'd be hospitalised now I think with exhaustion. Makes me wonder how we did it so much in the first few years! 🤣

I also have never been one to initiate things , it's always been DH starting things, so it's very weird for me that I now have to initiate, I feel bad sometimes thinking my DH thinks I'm after one thing (which technically I am)🤣

@ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia welcome to the group. So pleased that your cycle is shorter. I had my first short cycle last month and its so much better. Feels like you're in with more of a chance.

@mrsleb @Maisy24 haha about the sex drives 😂 I'm trying to hold DH off for a couple of days as I want to do SMEP this month and don't want to wear myself out too early. We have only been married 4 months so kind of still in the honeymoon stage which helps a little bit not enough for every other day 😂

Loving our little group excited for November and us hopefully having some BFP takes the pressure off me knowing we are all in it together Xx

The weirdest thing happened today, hoping one of you might be able to help, so I don't normally get much EWCM at all. Anyway I went toilet today at dinner and omg I've never seen so much of it!! Absolutely loads of the stuff, and I mean loads! Sorry for TMI I know but has this ever happened to anyone else? Does this mean anything? We made sure we dtd tonight, but worried somethings been knocked out of sync with all the vitamins I'm taking.

@Maisy24 I had that last month. I've never noticed it like that
before so took it as a sign my cycle was back to normal. I had to go the the toilet in work every 20 minutes as felt it was dripping out of me 🙈 we didn't DTD that day as had already done two days in a row when I had my flashing and static smily. If it happens this month definitely DTD. I speak to a couple of my friends about TTC but not told them that bit 😂 xx

@Nic555 thanks I'm glad it's not just me, I hope it isn't a bad sign. So did you get it a few days after a positive? I got a very near positive ovulation on cd13 (I think I missed the full surge) and then had that today on cd 15 is this similar timing to yours then?
