Are One Step pregnancy tests unreliable?

I've taken a test at 7dpo. Don't ask me why. I know it's crazy! And there is a very, very faint line and it looks pink, but I had this a couple of months back too at 12dpo and I wasn't pregnant (although I suspect it could have been a chemical as I also got a faint positive on a FRER) and last month at 15dpo and the line looked the same darkness each time. Are these tests just unreliable?

Hi Op, I've personally always found them to be reliable. I used them in my prev pregnancy (unfortunately ended in MC) and also my current one (7w6d)... I have followed up with FRERs and digital however, but that was more down to excitement I think! 7dpo is really early- but a pink line is a pink line! Congrats hun, hope all goes well xx

They havent let me down yet. They are very very faint in early days but enough to show me something and to confirm with first response.

I know 2 answers isn't exactly conclusive but I was expecting to hear "no, they're crap and known for false positives".

This is the test from today. The photo was taken after 10 minutes but the line came up within the time frame.

I've taken another test and there's a more obvious line. But 7dpo and taken in the evening is surely unlikely to show a positive?

I've had lines like that for the last two months and then both times I've come on my period. 100% changing brand for next month when I finish AF

These are mine at 10dpo and then at 18dpo. I'm now currently 26 weeks pregnant. Try another in a few days and see if the line gets stronger. Good luck and report back to us!

Another faint line this morning so then I wasted a FRER on a very obvious negative. I know I'm only 8dpo so it's very early still, but I do think the One Step tests are giving false positives if it's not showing up on a FRER. I need to try to be patient!

Hello, I used these tests and was pregnant.. I tested 4 days before AF was due.. these were mine..

Very faint but definitely enough to show pregnancy!

I'd keep everything crossed and try again in a couple days (even though I did them everyday out of excitement!!) good luck xx
