Bleeding 3 days after positive OPK?

Ttc for a few months now . Using CBD OvPk’s . I ovulate pretty late.. flashing smileys from around CD 16 and got my static smiley on CD 23. Yesterday I had thick brown discharge ( sorry tmi) and pain in left ovary , today I have had cramping and I am bleeding, enough for me to put a tampon in.
Surely my LP isn’t as short as three days!! My cycle ranges from 26-32 days.
This is my first month using the OVPK but I know the ovulation date was correct due to EWCM and temp and ovarian pain also so I’m assuming I maybe ovulated yesterday.
I really don’t understand why I am now bleeding , could this really be my period this short after ovulation? ☹️
I have a 1 year old son so this couldn’t have been a problem conceiving before with a shirt LP.
Also without using the OVPK’s in months previously I am sure I have never ovulated this close to a period starting?

Maybe you have had an anovulatory cycle. Everyone gets them from time to time. Your body geared up to ovulate but for some reason it didn't.

Or maybe you ovulated much earlier in the month? Cd16 is late to start doing OPKs, I start on cd8 of a 28 day cycle. I get my peak around cd13/14. LH rises before your period arrives so maybe you caught that peak.

I don't use CB OPKs but as you get an LH surge before AF I'd assume it was picking up that. Others may be better able to advise though.

Perhaps a bit of ovulation bleeding?

Another thing that comes to mind is if you have PCOS, you sometimes get false positives on ovulation tests because your body is gearing up to ovulate and you have an LH surge, but never release an egg.

That's what I have been dealing with. I still have regular periods and everything, but no eggs being released 😢
