First BFP since Miscarriage- Terrified!

We've been TTC for 18 Months, our first BFP resulted in a Miscarriage in June. Just tested and got a very quick response of BFP even though I'm only 2 days late for AF!

I'm so happy I could cry, but equally as terrified so could cry again!

Anyone in the same boat? ❤️

I'm not in the same boat now but I have been! I was terrified getting my bfp after miscarriage and carried on being terrified the whole way through pregnancy...but I now have a very happy, healthy almost 3 year old and I had no need to panic so much at all. My advice would be (and I know this sounds like crap advice because I thought the same) but try your best to relax and enjoy it and believe that everything will be perfect. I didnt and in all honestly, the constant anxiety was hellish. It's of course perfectly natural to worry after your previous experience but try your best to enjoy it and be excited too! Congratulations xx

I am! MMC in July followed by CP in August. Bfp at the weekend.

Not #1, been here before and had a healthy pregnancy after miscarriage but the anxiety never goes away after you've lost a pregnancy and having had two mc/cp on the bounce this year I'm incredibly nervous (I'm no spring chicken either so risk of mc far higher). Refusing to even consider myself pregnant at the moment, especially as I think if this one doesn't work out we may decide to draw a line under trying for a last baby.

Hoping this one sticks for both of us @Ohmyohmyohme x

Same boat had a MC in May and got my BFP 2 weeks ago. Feel exactly the same happy and terrified

Ohmyohmyohme · 25/09/2019 09:01

Hi @SunshineCrocodile @MrsH497 Sorry to hear you've been through the same - such conflicting feelings isn't it?! Fingers crossed it works out for us all Smile
Told DH lastnight after my BFP yesterday afternoon, he's so positive and happy - hopefully once the initial anxiety wears off I'll get to that stage too! Has anyone booked any appointments yet or will you wait a while longer? x

@MrsSkr Lovely to hear it all worked out beautifully for you 💕 I too already have an amazing 3 Year old who was conceived after a Miscarriage, so I'm hoping this little bfp will be another success story! x

Tbh I've had two late MMCs (development 8wk+) so I don't want to book anything until as late as possible because I can't bear to cancel them again! Will probably have a private scan at 10 weeks and if all looks good will book then. I'll almost definitely be paying for NIPT as well due to my age so I'm not too worried about missing the NHS dating/nuchal scan.

If you're definitely going to need the NHS scan though I'd book at 6/7 weeks.

Ohmyohmyohme · 25/09/2019 09:44

@SunshineCrocodile Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear you've had two, how awful for you! DH and I have said we're going to wait until I'm 8 weeks before booking the first scan, my MMC was at 7 weeks before. Can I ask what a NIPT is please?

@Ohmyohmyohme my booking in appointment is next week at about 7.5 weeks as there weren't any other appointments for a few weeks.

Non Invasive prenatal Testing. It's basically a blood test that gives you a 99.9% accurate chromosome screen for trisomy (Downs, Patti, Edwards I think) and can also tell you the sex if you want (although that's not why I'm having it as I probably wouldn't want to know!). Usually about £350 and done in conjunction with a scan.

SunshineCrocodile · 25/09/2019 14:50

Pataus sorry, damn autocorrect!

Ohmyohmyohme · 26/09/2019 19:24

Oh Wow @SunshineCrocodile I'll definitely look into that, for my own peace of mind at least - I've just turned 35 so guess I too am a little worried with the rumours of being pregnant past a certain age! Good Luck for your first appointment @MrsH497, Have either of you told anyone else apart from your Partners yet?

@Ohmyohmyohme we've told our parents. We will tell close family as well soon

SunshineCrocodile · 26/09/2019 21:04

Not told anyone else apart from one lovely friend. And it will probably stay that way until we're safely past 10 weeks!
