Just wondered if anyone else has had a recent MMC and is TTC again?

Wondering how soon after you are trying?

I had a miscarriage on the 16th August confirmed by a scan was meant to have been 12 weeks baby had passed at 6+5 2 weeks later I had a negative test and scan to confirm all was gone, just done a test on Saturday and found out I was pregnant again

Hi Katieeb24

Sorry to hear about your MC - I went for a scan on Friday 13th (defo unlucky for me) at 9+4, only to be told either something was not developing correctly or it was just a really early pregnancy, however I was pretty sure of my dates.

Went back last friday to be told it had grown 1.8mm and therefore had to go back again in two weeks... I have bought that forward to this friday as not waiting that long when I know something is not right!!

Did you choose the natural MC option... ?

So pleased re your positive test... did you wait for AF after the MC, or just got on with TTC?

xxx

Hi sorry to hear your going through this, I chose to pass it naturally I had started bleeding on the Thursday and my gp referred me for a scan the next day which confirmed the baby was measuring 6+5 and there was no heart beat I went through the worst of it Friday night and bled and cramped really bad so it all passed fairly quickly, and nope I didn’t actually have a period inbetween my miscarriage and finding out I was pregnant and we weren’t actively trying just agreed not to use anything was really surprised for it to have been positive as it took me 17 months to get pregnant with my son and have also not used anything since having him and he was 1 in March so really didn’t think I’d get pregnant so quickly xx

@Katieeb24 I haven't had any bleeding...I think I will likely go down the ERPC route if it is all confirmed on Friday.

We would ideally like to start trying again straight away.... as far as I have seen, there is no medical reason to not have a period in between, and quite a few ladies have fallen pregnant again without one!

I had my implant taken out on the 9th July... fell pregnant straight away which we were really surprised by - this is my first pregnancy... just rubbish!!

It is a really rubbish thing to go through but it does happen to a lot of people and a lot of people it just happens I never thought it would happen to me after a successful pregnancy wishing you all the best and fingers crossed for the future xx

Hi everyone, I wondered if I could join please? We had our 12 week scan last Monday to be told baby was only measuring 6 weeks and there was no sign of a heartbeat. They medically induced miscarriage last Tuesday and it all still seems to be ongoing (was hoping it would be over with by now but I still keep getting spells of really heavy bleeding and tissue loss so trying to rest up and take it a day at a time). My husband and I have both said we'd like to try again once everything has settled down but, whilst I'm so pleased we're both on the same page, I'm absolutely terrified of going through this again. We have a DD and DS and know how blessed we are to have them, I guess we're trying to pluck up the courage and be brave enough to try again.

I'm so sorry to hear of your losses, it may be far more common than I ever realised but I know it doesn't make it any easier for us x

ceebee21 · 09/10/2019 14:11

@MrsG3 Hello, sorry to see you on this thread and sorry for your loss.

It really is sh*t...But apparently very common, apparently 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage.

I had surgical management last Tuesday..would have been 12 weeks then. I'm still lightly bleeding now but hoping this will stop soon. We want to try again straight away so just want it all over with.

This was our first pregnancy, but I remain positive in the fact we fell pregnant literally straight away.

There is a really good thread on here, something like TTC after pregnancy loss and has penguins in it...I will tag you in it xx

Hi so sorry your going through this and I hope the pain and bleeding is over for you soon, I paid for a early scan as you can see previously I found out I was pregnant because I was so worried. I don’t think there’s anything that’s going to make the worries any better for you, you would have to just try and push past it if it is something you really want. I myself am non stop worrying now and constantly worrying about the future even if I were not to miscarry... that my baby would have something wrong with him/her. I think everyone has the same worries when it comes to trying or conceiving again. I constantly play over in my head of waiting to be seen in hospital and the lady scanning me saying sorry but there is no heartbeat and fear this would be the case everytime I go for a scan. Good luck for the future xx

Katieeb24 · 09/10/2019 14:18

I also had a scan Friday just gone and there was a heartbeat and baby was measuring 6 weeks :) I’m now 6+5 the same measurements I was when losing my last baby and I’m overcome with worry even though I have only had scan. Just have some hope that things will happen for you I never thought I’d get pregnant again so soon after a miscarriage xxx

ceebee21 · 09/10/2019 21:19

@Katieeb24 I'm glad your scan went well last week.

I know I will be exactly the same if I fall pregnant again.

Wishing you all the best for this pregnancy xxx
