Just booked a fertility test at Bourn Hall....before reading some terrible reviews. Experiences?

Hi,

Right at the beginning of this. I'm 35 with a 12 year old dc from previous relationship. No reason to assume I have fertility issues, but I'm in a ss relationship, so we wouldn't know if there was an issue before potentially chucking money away. We just thought it was a good idea to check everything is in good working order, but after making the appointment, I'm now reading some awful reviews, mainly on here and mainly in the form of impersonal attitude and poor communication .

Has anyone got experiences of Bourn Hall? We're booked at the one in Cambridge, which I'm reading is particularly bad Confused

TIA

I had three rounds of IVF / ICSI at Bourn. I had nothing but positive experiences with them. The staff are all nice, the doctors explained everything and worked with us a lot. We had access to counselling should we have wanted it, felt like we had lots of choice and most importantly for us we had a little boy at the end of it.

Oh, cross posted!

Thanks, Grunt. That's put my mind at rest a bit. Tbf, most of the reviews I was looking at were a few years ago. Was it the cambridge one you went to?

Congratulations on your little boy!

Yes the Cambridge one. I honestly found all the staff great. They tended to allocate a nurse and I mainly saw the same person for checks and only saw different people for bigger procedures. The even gave me a reassurance scan at 11 weeks or so (after I had been discharged) because the NHS hospital couldn’t do one and I phoned them in a panic, they told me to drive to them and scanned me straight away.
Good luck x

I went to Bourn hall (not Cambridge though I had my eggs collected there)... all very professional and pleasant in my experience. I didn’t fall pregnant but I was 41! And I conceived natuoless than 3 months later
