TTC first month, ovulation tracking

Hi, month is my first time TTC I’m currently using 2 apps to track my cycle. At the moment I’m not sure which app to go by as with all the exact same info added to both flo predicted that I ovulated 2 days before the other, We have only “tried” twice this cycle we have quite a relaxed approach as it’s our first month, both within my fertile window. One app said my high chance day was 13th sept the other 2 days before. I’m roughly 5 days away from my period start date. Both apps have said I’m due on the same day. I’m not relying on the apps I do track my fluid as well. I’ve had no symptoms of pregnancy yet (that are particularly out of the ordinary for me) advice would be appreciated! Trying not to stress/overthink as we’re so early days.

Definitely don't relay on your apps, the only way to track if your ovulating is ovulation tests and temping. Your CM is a good indication but I've had EWCM at random stages of my cycle xx

As PP said, do not rely on apps unless you are inputting data into them such as OPKs (even then they arent reliable) or BBT.

Even with tracking with OPKs and BBT though, you could miss your fertile window. OPKs indicate you will ovulate within the next 12 to 36 hours so you will need to make sure you DTD as soon as you get a positive test really.

BBT is reliable, but only shows you have ovulated 3 days post ovulation so you would have missed your 24 hour window by that point.

Best thing to do is to DTD every other day throughout the cycle.

Also, just in case you do not know this already as wasnt until a few months of TTC did we discover this - do not use spit or usual lubes during sex, it hampers the sperms chances! If you need the extra fluids, try Conceive+ lube or another fertility lube!

@MrsSokhi @TwittleBee thanks so much for your comments, I will start taking my BBT do you need a special thermometer for this?
I have AF due Saturday, so I will let you know where I stand at the weekend.

you are welcome @Yogisunflower91 - you are meant to get a special BBT one that tracks temp to 2 decimal places BUT I have only a regular one from boots that only temps to 1 decimal place and it has been accurate enough for me. Fertility Friend and Fertility Friend's website have brilliant "lessons" on temping - do not be put off by the rather aged looking appearances of the app and website as lots of useful info on there
