False positive on frer?

I'm 13dpo and been getting negatives on an ic. Tonight I had a positive on an ic which looked like it was a dye bleed so did a frer and positive did another ic and negative!

Has anyone had false positive on frer?? One of my friends said she has recently. Relied on frers for my 1st pregnancy.

I can see the line on the FRER. Are you sure you are 13dpo? Have you got another you can do tomorrow?

I can see a second line in the last photo, maybe try a digital or a another pink dye test. I think I took 7 tests to confirm my last pregnancy 🤞

I always wonder that “false positives”, especially on FRERs, are sadly early chemicals.

@Tigger83 I got this at 13dpo now 14dpo and seems like af is here with temp drops. Not had a smidge of a line on an frer before.

Got definite clear lines- perhaps not as dark as with my ds at this point. I've had 2 miscarriages before ds one at 8weeks one at 11weeks and a chemical so I'm just a bit nervous with no positive on ic despite positives on frer. Going to buy a clear blue today too I think.

Clear Blue will NOT show if you've only got faint lines, as they're much less sensitive to HCG than FRER.

All you can do is continue testing with FRER and see if the lines darken. Good luck - I've been there and it's torture.

Hi guys, I'm all good. Had a little look on the amazon reviews for the ics that I bought and recently they've been a lot of negatives when other tests have been positive so feel a bit better. Af due tomorrow so keeping everything crossed.

@Siobhan1989 You can NOT get a false positive that obvious. Unfortunately what happens is that you are or were pregnant, however, you had likely gone through a chemical pregnancy. The test line only turns pink if the hcg hormone is detected. NOTHING else can make it pink.

I have had 3 CPs, only in the last one did I get a bfp on an IC. Even after AF was due. FRERs spotted it every time. With CP#2 I only got a bfp on an IC the day after I started bleeding, by which time I was 3 days late for AF. I'd believe a FRER over an IC everytime.

Well line is definitely darker! Think I've got a dodgy batch of ic's as they were great first time around for me! Now processing the fact that all being well I'll be having a baby in June!!!!

Just to make you feel better about the ICs @Tigger83 here's a pic of my frer against an IC both taken on the same day! I was definitely pregnant, ICS just normally take longer to show a line

Thank you ranch! Feeling loads better about it now I've got a strong line etc. Now just got to work out how I'm going to manage with a new born and a 2 and a bit year old lol
