My period is 10 days late. We’re TTC so I’ve tested every day but it’s negative so I’m not pregnant.

However, I’m getting increasingly intense ‘stretching’ feelings right at the bottom of my tummy and a sharp pain in my pelvis on the right hand side.

This is my first cycle after a miscarriage (I was only 5.5 weeks pg) and I have had a cycle that lasted 47 days previously which I suspect was an MMC, but all others have been 32-35 days.

I know when I ovulated because I detected it on a test (day 19).

What on earth is going on? I’ve had the pains for a couple of weeks but they’re getting a lot more intense. Confused

Any help would be really appreciated, I’m struggling a bit.

Hi,
Oh you poor thing!! This TTC stuff is so complicated! I’m sorry for your loss (I know how hard that can be).. you could well be pregnant but the levels aren’t enough to show.. I’ve heard of ladies only getting positives through blood tests.
Hi If you’re in pain though it might be worth contacting your GP or even A+E if the pain is getting stronger! I had an ectopic not so many months ago and I thought it was muscle pain until it got stronger and I ended up in emergency surgery-not trying to scare you... just definitely think you need to see a doc.
Xx

@Getterfeck sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I had one back in April and that first cycle afterwards is really tough. If you are just using ovulation tests and not tracking your temp it's possible that they picked up your body trying to ovulate and not doing it, I believe it is possible for this to happen a few times before you ovulate. So you may just be less days after ovulation than you think which could explain the negative test.

I actually didn't ovulate the first cycle after my miscarriage and even after that the next 3 or 4 where I did ovulate it was much later than normal. I'd try not to relax, and try another test in a few days.

I’m not sure when my last pregnancy started showing on a test, but I tested after my missed period (day 38) and it was a strong positive, so I don’t think I’m one of those women unless it can vary between pregnancies?

I’m lying in bed at the moment and I can feel the stretching/ pulling pain. It’s quite intense but I’m not doubled over or anything. I feel a bit silly going to an out of hours gp Blush

Could I have some sort of infection from the miscarriage? I lost it on 26th June so if that was the case is it too late now for that to be a factor?

Hi all

Day 47 now and still no period. Other delightful symptoms include swollen boobs and sore nipples, although no colour change. When I miscarried, my nipples changed colour Confused

The pulling pain has settled down and I’m feeling a bit sick now and again but nothing serious.

Tested negative again this morning, what on earth is happening to me Sad

Have you been to the GP? As someone mentioned upthread, it could be an ectopic where the HCG levels don't rise as rapidly (from what I understand). Or it could just be your body settling down after the miscarriage. If you can get an appointment with the GP it wouldn't hurt just to check everything is ok.

@Getterfeck try to call 111 and they will ask you a set of questions about your symptoms. If they are concerned they will get a GP to call you over the phone.

Also do you still have the number of the EPU from when you had the miscarriage - try letting them know they might ask you to come in or recommend you see your GP.

You can't be too careful - listen to your instincts if something doesn't feel right please try to go and speak to or see someone Thanks

I would go to your GP, honestly. It could be something as simple as your cycle and hormones trying to settle, or you could have an ovarian cyst (which can delay periods and cause discomfort). Either way, you might need to be examined or scanned. No point in suffering and worrying OP Thanks

Booked in at the GP. Earliest they can see me is next Friday, so if my period turns up before then I’ll cancel.

Boobs/ nipples are rock hard today and feel massive Confused took another test this morning and it’s still negative.

I don’t feel ‘periody’ at all and I usually known it's coming a couple of days before so I think it’s at least a few days away if not more.

This is officially the longest cycle I’ve ever had (discounting the miscarriage) so something’s definitely going on. It’s horrid Sad
