Period late - when to do a test?

Hey guys!

Sorry only second thread I've ever started! Haha. My partner and I have been TTC since the beginning of June and not had any luck so far. I have been using the app Flo and my periods have been bang on each predicted day every month since May when I began using the app, however my periods have been fully regular prior to that anyway except I hadn't been monitoring it so carefully! So I was due on yesterday, and I have still not had anything at all. I usually suffer badly with endometriosis so really awful period pains from around 7 days before I come on and I have not had any of that at all. I've not had any symptoms I'm normally have when I'm due on except some mood swings and being a bit more emotional over the last week or two.

My question is, is it too soon to do a pregnancy test? I'm expecting a negative just because I'm trying not to get my hopes up!! But it does seem odd as like I said I'm never ever late by even a day and now it's almost 2 days.

Test away! If you normally have regular cycles and you know approximately when you would have ovulated then it's a good time to test. I've got everything crossed for you!

Ahhh so glad you guys have said that! I've wanted to do it but been afraid to haha needed someone else who kinda knows what they're talking about (partner tries bless him 😆) to tell me to do it haha. Off to the shop shortly to get a test 🙊🙊 thank you!! X

I'd test now. When DH and I were TTC I always waited until I was due, got my BFP the day I was due, but I was sure I was as I had been feeling sick for a few evenings and heavily suspected I was. Good luck!

So I've just done a test, just a Tesco one. I've done them before and always had obvious negatives never a doubt about them. This time theres a very faint blue line that came up immediately, it's one of the ones where you get a cross for positive and one line for negative. It's faint but there is definitely a blue line the same width as the other line, not sure what to think! Do I wait and do a second test in the morning when my urine is more concentrated or do I get a clear blue instead, partner has offered to go get one now haha. Thanks guys! Xxx

Hi @Doodles93 that's sounding good! use a FRER as pink dye tests are better than blue dye and you should get a nice strong second line at this stage 🤞🏼 x

Sounds promising OP! If you have another test then absolutely pee on it with your FMU. As pp said, buy a FRER if it's still faint in the morning and you're unsure.

Ok so I did a digital clear blue late last night and got a big fat not pregnant. However, did a clear blue early detection normal blue dye one this morning and had another faint positive, I'll upload the pic in a sec, what do you guys think? Could it just be that I'm so early on the digital isn't picking it up yet as the HcG is so low and that's why the lines are so faint? Or am I just wishing too much? I looked for a pink dye one but Tesco didn't have any!!

CB digitals aren’t very sensitive.

Congratulations, that looks like a positive to me. Don't worry about the digital test there not the best at picking up early pregnancy

I would say your too early for a digital but that clearblue looks definitely promising!

That is not a positive if you're definitely 2 days late, sorry. It's too faint, plus those tests give evaps. Try a pink dye x

If you've followed the instructions to the letter then that looks positive to me, but I'd retest in 2 days just to be sure, but its looking good!

So I thought I was due on on Tues, app said so, but then said period may start today, then the same yesterday and now today says 1 day late so I'm officially 1 day late.

Keeping everything crossed that I'll get a proper positive when I retest Saturday morning!! 😬 Did follow the instructions properly and both results were immediate which is why I don't think can be evap lines but yeah hopefully will just know for sure Saturday!! Want to be able to be excited! Xx

So I woke not long ago and decided I'm too impatient to wait until tomorrow but I was desperate for a wee and know I'll be up again in 2 hours so thought technically this is the most concentrated urine if I go do a test now 😆 attached is the pic just a Tesco cheapy one, looks darker to me loads than the previous tesco and clear blue!! What do you guys think? Xx
