TTC #1, had the Mirena coil removed yesterday, it's all very exciting!

I didn't have any AF whilst it was fitted, not sure what to expect with getting back to normal with everything.

Any advice?

I had mine taken out then light period after a couple of weeks (also didn't get periods with it) and then got pregnant the following month. Good luck.

I had mine out in June and my cycles are taking a bit of time to settle down. First one was 40 days, second 24 and now 3rd is looking like it will be about 28 days (unless I’m lucky enough to have conceived!).
We’ve been TTC since it was removed but nothing yet. Everyone is different though so there will be lots of different responses to this.
I’ve found using an app to track my cycle really useful so now I really know what’s going on with my body.
Good Luck!!!!

Thanks guys, yea it seems everyone is very different after removal but can't find much online in terms of people's experiences!

Congrats Beth 🎉 and fingers crossed for you Banoffee 🤞

I've downloaded Ovia but because I've not got any cycle information to put in and IUD removal isn't an option to enter it's telling me I'm ovulating right now 😆 will see how I get on with the app. Ordered some Pregnacare conception to start taking too x

I got mine out in August. I was having periods with it in, with fairly short cycles. Period was due a couple of days after it came out and lasted 17 days!! That's cycle was 34 days, this one's looking more normal so far.

I fell pregnant with DD 2 months after having the Mirena taken out in Dec 15/Jan 16.

Had Mirena taken out in June/July and just started TTC for #2. Good luck!

Hello! I've had 2 Mirena coils over 7 years and I had my last one taken out in May 2019. I had no periods the whole 7 years, so I wasn't expecting them to appear. I had my first period on the 26th July - 4 days long. Then my second one on the 10th - September 4 days long! I have PCOS too and I've never tracked my cycles before now and TTC #1 is every overwhelming! I also have a sticky blood condition so there's that to monitor too! annd I had a stroke when I was 22! - so I've been told already that my pregnancies (if any) will be high risk
If anyone has had any experience of these things or knows anyone that has - I'd really like some advice :)

@jessywest I know a few women who have sticky blood. Has baby aspirin or anything been mentioned to you? If not I would speak to your GP or a specialist to ask advice x

@beth821 thank you for your reply. I take daily anticoagulants which cannot be taken during pregnancy. I will then be given heparin injections throughout any/all pregnancies. I guess I feel a bit lonely as I don’t really have anyone to talk to about it all. My female relatives all had text book pregnancies and births. So they can only say from their experiences.
