Preparing for TTC next year - how to track cycles

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I'm going to potentially start TTC next year. Before then I'd like to start tracking my cycle now, so I have a good idea of whats what in advance. Two questions - what's the best app for this, and - I am currently using the non-hormonal coil for contraception. Is it pointless for me to start tracking cycles until I have the coil removed? Thanks everyone 😊

Not at all - if it's non-hormonal then it won't be affecting your natural hormones so tracking now would be a good preparation to do. I use Natural Cycles which isn't free, in combination with One Step (internet cheapy) OPKs and I found it really useful to know what my body was doing before we started TTC. There are free tracking apps out there too but I don't have any experience of those - I do know some only track based on period dates though so look out for that.

Hi Lagirl20,
Im in the same boat as you. I have just over a week left of my conceptive pill then I am coming off it. Im planning to give myself a couple of months to get used to have regular periods again (been on the pill for years!) before TTC! Im beyond excited about this already!! Ive downloaded an app called My Tracker, I've yet to use it but heard some good things, all a friend was telling me about an app called Flo which is supposed to be good too. Ill start using my app on the first day of bleeding once I'm off the pill. :)
