Dark lines on OPK early in cycle

I know they aren't positive, but I've never had such dark lines this early on in my cycle. As a bit of background, this is my first cycle since having my baby a year ago and I have taken a hpt which ruled out pregnancy.

Anyone have the same thing or know why this is?

When was your last period and how long did it last? Maybe you are counting wrong as I thought CD1 was first day of period so surely on CD2 you would still be bleeding?

Yes CD1 I counted as the first day of my period. I just started doing the OPKs out of interest from the start of my cycle, I was still bleeding until CD5.

My last period was December 2017 as I got pregnant and this is the first time my periods have returned since giving birth a year ago.

I guess I just wasn't expecting the lines to be so dark this early on.

Ahh I see. some people seem to show quite strong lines on opks all the way through the month and their test line is far darker than the control line for a positive. I'm sure the more you test the more it will help you get to know your cycles 🙂
